As for Maria... well, it was a peaceful MO, and it seems the killer respected her after death. Better she goes to the "golden land" than be forced to live on in the horribly messed up world. |

Without getting too spoilerific. Would you guys say the ending in episode 8 could be compared to the Gainax Ending?

Technically, I would say EP8 actually finished the plot line and character development, so it isn't technically like the GainaxEnding. It maybe more like he resolved those things but didn't resolve the thematic ending; although... not the thematic ending but the remaining questions people had. Basically, we got the 2/3 ending, but people are still clamoring for the last 1/3, whatever that may be. Maybe people on the English side are trying to say it's like this: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WriterCopOut |

I have been thinking for a while.............What if we misuderstood What Ryukishi wanted us to find...
what if the only thing that matters in Umineko is the Who and Why dunnit? what if we take that philosophy to the games...... I have also been thinking for a while that maybe the epitaph does not only contains the answer for the Ushiromiyas'gold......What if the Epitaph is also related to the games...... For example in the first part of the epitaph and the first twilight it describes in some way Umineko's Plot: Spoiler for Epitaph and Episodes:
This is just especulation and some of them I consider them Stupid The sixth.......I consider it funny.....but in some twisted way it makes sense... the eight twilight might not make sense since there was no official game...I think... what do you think? |

It's an interesting idea pierrot, but it feels kinda forced in a lot of aspects. Also, it'd be a neat trick if he intended that kind of forshadowing, but god Ryukishi would have to have one enormous ego if he went into writing the epitaph with an ending essentially saying "PRAISE ME!"

yes
first of all, kanon is just a persona created by yasu so if kanon died he will never leave a corpse,so yasu acted as kanon.in ep7 Will said that "only the actor can kill the character" which means that yasu can kill the kanon persona whenever she wants. here's how i see what happened. i believe what happened was after kanon hid in the closet yasu killed the kanon persona then hid under the bed or maybe yasu change from kanon persona to beatrice. it doesn't violate any red so i think this is right.
