Why did Kakashi want to kill Zabuza with the Raikiri?
Didn't it seem strange to anyone that Kakashi would use up the rest of his chakra to invoke the Raikiri (now known as the Chidori) to kill Zabuza while he was immobilized by his dog-nins? You'd think he could have saved his chakra and, instead, just stab Zabuza with a kunai?

He wanted to end it fast, as he said " Let's end this now", teh reaon he came up with this conclusion was that because Naruto was leaking Kyubi chakra. That's basically it. Kakashi feared something worse would happen to Naruto, if he didn't come to help. |

I guess he's shows respect for Zabuza by using this jutsu aswell. Also by using it there was a much smaller chance of the killing move being blocked or evaded.
Although as it turned out, by using such a powerful move, Haku sensed it and figured out what was happening and stopped it anyway.

Kakashi should show respect! He was about to kill the best nin that ever lived! :: starts to cry as he thinks back on that scene when Haku dies, then when Zabuza-san dies :: Hrmph. If it weren't for that dolt Tazuna, Zabuza would still be alive. Oh well...

If he used anything less there is still the chance of him surving, look how much Zabuza took and he still went on afterwards. If he used anything less there's the chance of losing, so his best bet would be to use his strongest move(or one of his strongest) a killing jutsu.

Didn't he say it? The reason why he had to kill Zabuza was because he was too dangerous to be kept alive. The reason why he wanted to kill Zabuza with Raikiri, was because he wanted to prove that he had jutsus of his own as well (not only copied with Sharingan).

I don't see any practical need for it either really. Why not just use a kunai? The chidori is suppose to be able to cut through anything, but there was nothing that a normal blad could not cut through.
The only reason I can see that he used it is to show respect, or to show off... probably both. |

Maybe he just wanted to kill him quickly, introduce the jutsu "chidori/raikiri" straight out because it would be used abit. I mean if kakashi un-estimated him and walked up to him to kill him, zabuza might wind up back in the mist.
Needed something quick, effective and powerful, I mean Zabuza was jounin level. |

if you ask questions like that you might as well ask for a logical answer for
everything. The fact is that this is an ANIME...many people look too far into them because of their interest in it. it was to make it DRAMATIC..this is an anime, every situation doesn't have some logical reasoning other than to 'make it look cool' or lead up on to other events. |
