i quite enjoy the series at the moment despite everyone saying how the anime should have this and should have that from the LN/Manga.
As a non-LN reader, i don't feel that anime is missing much in detail, that you normally find in LN/Manga but with only 13 epi, the production crew can only do so much. my overall impression from spi 1~4, is ... Brutal, when i first saw epi 1, i thought it was going to be another generic loli-harem anime... looks like i was wrong, can't wait for the future epi |

right probably the 12 Zodiac Gatrea(or most Gatrea) are once human, Gatrea virus is probably originally a virus to make super human soldier but ironically created something that nearly wiped out human, though i dont want it to be that cliche for those syringe he was suppose to take only one but the anime rushed it and so it was taken all at once |

...Uh, I get that the episode's supposed to be grandiose and epic, but I don't feel it. This is sad.
On the other hand, Kayo's scene, while being much less pretentious, had more impact than the rest of all four episodes. Well damn. The box's contents creeped me out. Well damn. Actually, these two words describe all my feelings about BB The Anime. Well damn. |

Do not get me wrong; I am enjoying it still, but the obvious rushed pace kinda yanks me out of the narrative by it's choppiness. I do not mind and can certainly understand an involved story being crammed together, but I guess my personal taste is to go at things like that a little slower and with more gradual build-up and detail.

Rentaro just goes "RAWR" kicks him two times, and he falls into the ocean. Its just like "that's all it took?" And the sword girl didn't even get to fight much either. Was looking forward to a final mantis vs. bunny fight, but they didn't even cross strikes. Didn't even get a flashback behind the history of her and her papa, since their bond seemed as strong as Rentaro x Enju.

While this episode was painfully obvious for even anime only watchers that it was rushed, I found this episode absolutely silly, challenging my suspension of disbelief many times within mere 20 minutes.
Whereas I could give some slack with the pseudo plot twist regarding Rentarou's body, everything down from Kayo's death flag, Kagetane's "defeat", the railgun, etc were not only far from original, but brought way too many convenient points and the like. The straw was how conveniently possible it was for Rentarou to use his varanium arm as a railgun round: sure, the arm would be used as varanium substance in the hollow shell container, but how could they prepare such kind of cannon without any supply on site? Nevermind the fact there wasn't any varanium rounds available, there still was an empty round? Really now? Due to how the scene was executed, I was nearly laughing at Rentatou's helpless moment with the rail gun, while the Gastrae was... pretty much impossible to miss. Adding the fact they suddenly cannot control the cannon remotely, and all the talk about saving the world added so many cheese in that scene... Kayo's death was just a plain give away, with all the pseudo build up, obvious death flags around. However, she was barely introduced and developped in ep3, so the scene did nothing to me, since I didn't even have the time to care about the character to begin with. I haven't had the time for reading LN readers comments etc, but really, this episode pretty much felt like your usual average LN adaptation to me: nevermind the rushed aspect of this episode, the narrative and executions were awkward as hell. Suffice to say, I felt like ep3 was a penultimate ep, and this one was a "ep12" due to how it was handled.

The adaptation was average, but the source story, plot, character and basically everything else was a complete master piece that leaves you hanging at every turn and makes you want to know what happens next. The mystery is captivating, the action was blood-boiling epic, the emotional parts didn't feel forced... and then this came. -sarcastic clapping-.
Bravo, god couldn't they just animate the first two novels, I understand they want to reach volume 3 and 4 since it have one of the most epic event in the history of LN (and perhaps fiction) ever, but that doesn't give them the excuse to ruin 1 and 2. Now if i'm correct, they plan on finishing 3 and 4 in 6 episodes, THAT'S MADNESS. It simply cannot be done, hell volume 3 and 4 can be a 1 cour show all by itself, but with their current budget and how they skipped all the epic action and struggle it would be impossible for them to even remotely recreate 1% of the feeling that 3 and 4 give you. Personally i think that even if they have AOT's budget they could only recreate 3 and 4's feeling, but considering they have no where near that budget i would say this is going to suck ass. I had really high hopes, but you know what they say the more hope you have the more disappointing it is. Now I just wish they stop at volume 3 and don't even touch volume 4 since they would completely ruin the epic feeling of it. |

I probably will not expect the anime to do well in Japan if the anime is rushed like this, and I'm afraid this may lower the chances of Black Bullet getting a proper dub. If an anime is being rushed like this, I feel that only a Bang Zoom dub can do justice to the series if Sentai decides to dub this series.

I don't understand why so many people here so obsess with dub. Even until now, the economic value of a show still heavily dependence on domestic market - except when you're Gundam.
... You know, I starting to think of Black Bullet as another HunterXHunter. Solid story, detail setting, good character, but because of their particular attribute of a Seinen in Shonen clothes, they will always be the underdogs. |

Anyways, there are many people in this forums that like to watch their favorite anime dubbed into English. Thus being said, any anime becomes lucrative for a dub either mainly because of high streaming numbers or high sub-only DVD sales. I do have to agree though, Black Bullet might end up being an underdog, but for completely different reasons. Black Bullet have a much solid story-line writing and characterization, but the fact that the anime is rushed may slightly lower the chances for an English dub. I probably may not expect Black Bullet to get an English dub unless Sentai Filmworks decides to outsource the dub to Bang Zoom! (and even so, their dubbing decisions tend to be very unpredictable). Oh and the "Seinen with Shonen clothes" thing, it's kind of a bigger irony how many people mistake dark shonen anime like Attack on Titan, Black Butler, Deadman Wonderland, and Death Note as seinen when it's actually shonen (although I see where you are coming from, many people are used to shonen works incorporating seinen themes). If you wish to discuss about my ideas for a Black Bullet English dub, feel free to PM me or post a visitor message.

Reading the manga is clearly a big mistake for me....
the manga adaptation is thousand times better... the battle got expanded clearly and darker... Anime is like skipping the whole important part, Kisara got brushed out totally, and Enju is not pictured well... I'm not okay with this conclusion at all Although I have to appreciate that they handled the drama part pretty well they just messed up in the battle against Kagetane the pacing is horrible Poor Kisara.... She didn't like a main cast at all in anime |
