While it's nice to see that Orga still doesn't tolerate any threats to the group, I am starting to see Naze's point. It worked this time because Orga was holding all the cards, but I'm interested to seeing how Orga acts in a situation where that isn't the case. I don't think allying McGillis was a good call ,but only time will tell.
It'll be interesting to see how Hush will do with Mika as his mentor.

That was intense, Mika is still a badass as I remember from the previous season and in this sequel, he does not disappoint.
Idk how I feel about McGillis' alliance with Tekkadan. I mean, they could benefit from it but how well can they work together? Glad to see Naze again as well this episode.

Well, in order for it to come true, our world history must establish that there has been a big war hundreds or thousands of years ago involving ancient giant robots that nearly wiped out mankind .

The description of the kit on amiami says that it includes new weapon parts for Barbatos Lupus, so I guess it's safe to say it's Mika's next powerup.

That ties in with Naze mentioning that Orga is not particularly good with pure politics. Which means Orga needs a quick-witted advisor with a good grasp on the political side of things (Biscuit, you're missed dearly). Merribit specializes in business-related stuff, not in politics. Of course, Naze is intent to be there to help, but, considering that he's the guy who has his own enemies to deal with, too, he can't be there on Mars all the time, and I think his main expertise is probably Teiwaz's side of things and the Jupiter outersphere, he seemed less of an expert on the intricacies of Earthian, much less Martian politics. McGillis is an excellent politician, but the problem is he absolutely cannot be trusted. After all, we're talking about a guy who had no qualms using his childhood friends for his schemes and, as a result, killing them (well, in case he really doesn't know that Gaelio has survived). So, it brings us to the next question: does Tekkadan have an ally they can trust that's good at politics? In fact, they do. Kudelia, who has already shown how quickly and thoroughly she can grasp a political situation (Makanai's in particular when she had learned all about the inner workings of his faction). Heck, politics is her precise specialization, and her company and Tekkadan are as close as business partners can get already, having even established an orphanage together. Moreover, the determination she stated in this episode basically amounts to her drive to get better at politics and diplomacy. As such, she can help Tekkadan with developing their half-metal mine (since she's already established a company that deals in it) and play the role of a political advisor to Orga so he won't get too reckless and burned as a result (although she's one reckless girl herself lol) So, as far as I'm concerned, everything clicks, and if I'm right and this is what her role will be, I'm really looking forward to it. Another thing that jumped at me upon rewatching the episode is the focus on Mika first staring at Mars beneath his feet (and commenting that McG looks tired, while seemingly not looking at McG at all... meaning one initial glance at him was enough for Mika to grasp it) and then at Orga throughout their meeting with McGillis. With Mika, you never know what he's thinking, so I'm lost as to the meaning of them focusing on Mika's starting at Orga in that scene (getting doubts about Orga's chosen course of action?) and then showing his face as he seemed to have arrive to some kind of conclusion or determination, but there definitely has to be some meaning. |

Though if McGillis is truly after what he says he's after, then I can honestly see him taking care of that side of things. Though to be honest, from the way that he seems to act as if he has nothing to lose, I have a feeling like McGillis himself doesn't expect to come out this whole Gjallerhorn retrofitting alive himself. I can see him taking out all 7 of the Seven Star families, including his own, and giving control of such a group to someone even better than him...someone like Kudelia? He talked quite a bit in the first season about how his hopes were lying on Kudelia and Tekkadan. I can see him faking his death and giving control to someone more worthy once he's done what he's set out to do. I've always found it interesting that despite his means, McGillis' goals that he's stated to others and to himself, are never selfish. He wants to create a better world by turning Gjallerhorn back to what it should have always been. However, to do that, he has a huge amount of corruption to get rid of, and he's had to break some eggs to make that omelet. Even some eggs that were once precious to him. We'll have to see how that will work later on. I'm honestly expecting for both McGillis and Tekkadan to be set up in some way and to get framed for something that will put them on the defensive. Right now, they are on top of the world. But too many people are jealous of them, too many want vengeance. And now if their allied, if one goes down, they will take the other with them. For now, McGillis and Tekkadan are in this together. We'll have to see if they can walk into the fire and come out unscathed. Quote:

We'll they've worked together before, so it will probably be similar to that but more open. McGillis has quite a level of respect for Tekkadan and while Orga doesn't trust him, he doesn't dislike him either. Also Mika and McGillis have a connection of sorts as well that will be interesting to see in further interactions.

For that matter, the whole mess with Dawn Horizon was brought about because she misjudged how far the Terra guy would and could go over his slighted pride. Last edited by Anh_Minh; 2016-10-23 at 14:04. |

McGillis and Tekkadan works provided McGillis doesn't have any ulterior motives beyond reform. The alliance I suppose provides a steady paycheck for Tekkadan. Granted I don't see McGillis getting a happy ending in this tale. Put it be pretty good real world commentary if he does win.
I assume Kudelia is going to brought in for Politics. Right now she is basically tangential to the main plot and her running a mining company is going to be boring and irrelevant for the most part. They need to inject her back into the thick of things. Plus even if Tekkadan wins and there is Peace or whatever does anyone really see Kudelia sitting on a farm. Someone has to run the government of whatever New World Order they create. So Mika and Atra probably do retire to run farms but I don't see Kudelia or Orga doing that. As for the piloting. Hard to rate anyone in my book. Although don't know why the grunts were whining about Kujan if he was going to be sniping from extreme long range. Seems pretty safe to me. Still he didn't look like a chump ala Carta. Itsurugi and Jullieta were pretty good I guess. Mika is right but I think the capturing was easier because Sandavol was willing to surrender. If your fighting someone who doesn't want to back down the job is way harder especially in space. I am guessing Hush gets the Gundam and Shino gets the Mobile Armor. However, I still haven't seen a single thing from Hush that suggest ace pilot in the making. Sure he wants to get stronger then Mika but he didn't exactly shine in a Mobile Worker whereas the Devil and Guts were shown to be elite even when they were in just Mobile Workers. Plus he doesn't have AV which granted you don't need to be elite. But Hush is starting today essentially whereas Ace pilots from Gjhallahorn with no AV probably started training as little kids. |

Another good episode. The 3 way battle kept things fresh while the bluntness of the aftermath kept the tension up.
An of course, the promise of a new Gundam frame makes things even more interesting. Though I do wonder if the Teiwaz boss knew about it and that's why he was so adamant to give Tekkadan the mine. |

And anyway, now that Tekkadan and McGillis with his part of GH (a sort of a police/government hybrid) are allied, Tekkadan will have to deal with the whole range of politics, from organized crime to governmental ruses (because, as Orga said, the moment they allied, McGillis' enemies, who are all from that corrupt police/government hybrid that is Gjallarhorn, became Tekkadan's enemies). Kudelia's shown herself capable of handling conventional politics with a bit of using the space mafia, Teiwaz, on the side. All politics is a snake pit in any area, where the goal is always to one-up your opponent somehow, the difference between conventional politics and organized mafia's is the methods, in my understanding, the mafia's ones are dirtier and more ruthless, so once Kudelia gets her bearings, she should be pretty effective there, too. And in any case, having her is better than Tekkadan's current nothing. |

And she realized that and determined to improve herself. Who knows, if her business coincides with Tekkadan, she might help them even if it means playing politics with various shady groups while learning how to deal with them which pretty much what she did in season 1. And don't forget that she herself was dealing with Gordon Nobliss who is as shady as McMurdo (if not more).

I hope Hush does some work on a simulator before getting into an actual MS battle. Azee and lafter could teach him since they both don't have the AV.
This episode was just awesome. I was expecting a cooldown episode after last weeks huge battle but I was wrong. . . THANK GOD I WAS WRONG lol Although it seems next episode will be more chill and laid back. Really loved the music being played during the scene where mikka kills that terra whatever guy. So tense and somewhat eerie. Ioks sniper gun is effing awesome. The new graze is a definite step up from the predecessor. That episode was very enjoyable. |

Woot, that's Flauros they're talking isn't it?
Mika being Mika, never change bro. I'm staring to agree with Naze, Orga's constant heavy handed approach is bound to get Tekkadan in hot water Teiwaz won't be able to pull them out. It's good that he's driven to achieving their goals but that same drive is starting to look like his own weakness.
