So quick question: does one need to know the story of Chaos;Head to read/watch Chaos;Child or is this more of a standalone story on the same universe? Can any VN reader chime in on that?

Considering most of the Science Adventure Game adaptions have been relatively standalone, aside from a few references and characters popping up, I assume the same will likely be true of this. I watched the Chaos;Head anime, but from what I've seen at most this series just shares some design and thematic elements with Chaos;Head .

It's been actually confirmed elsewhere but it was a long time ago, is there any more news about this though?
Speaking of other things, I wonder how will people react if they find out both this and S;G Zero will air around the same season and then only few select people choose to watch both? I felt that besides Steins;Gate, I don't think the 5pb.'s Sci-Fi ADV franchise was particularly well-liked (if at all) from others' reactions (especially the anime adaptations), on top of that to make it worse, Robotics;Notes was very underestimated even in its source material.

Well, robotic;notes isn't really special. Its kinda normal from their previews work. its like the game had been hyped too much and when they played it. They felt disappointed.
It also didn't help that the previews animation of their game, before steins;gate isn't really well received. And the one I'm talking about is chaos;head. This is a sequel of that game right? i haven't check the information given for chaos;child so I don't know the story yet but when i checked vndb. it's listed chaos;head as its prequel.

Seems like an interesting one. Definitely in line with what I like as far as subject matter that has a lot of potential for a good story. I hope it isn't too similar to Chaos;Head though.
I haven't played the games so I am unsure how much of Chaos;Head followed the style we can expect from the game author and whatnot. I just know that while I enjoyed Chaos;Head for the dark borderline-horror mysterious aspect of it, I didn't enjoy it all the way through because the genre just seemed to diverge into something else than that at some point. This sounds like it promises the same style based on the synopsis so I find myself hoping that it won't diverge in the same way.

Great to see this guy do something else apart from the Fate series. He also did Shomin Sample but that doesnt seem like something to judge his direction skills by. So far he has directed good anime. Lets see if he can do the same with this. Love it every time we get an in house director at silver link.
