Chapter 138 completely caught me off guard at the end, sheesh! And it seems that lenalee may become a parasitic type, I wonder what it will look like?

Members from the finders, administration, and science departments started to spread rumors that Allen's an envoy of the Earl due on the recent turn of events when Leverrier commissioned that the boy should be put into supervision on the charge of his relation with the Noahs.

Bak feels sick upon hearing the constant mongering of the false accusations attributed to Allen.

Cross as well is blamed his share of rumors, as more members continued gossiping that the General sent Allen to the Order in full knowledge that the boy might be a Noah.

It is not until the head of the Oceania branch commented that Allen even attempted to save that 'traitor' Suman, that Johnny (glasses guy) snapped in the dinning room screaming, upon the astonished looks of all the present staff, that Allen's a good guy after getting fed up eavesdropping unwillingly those gossips.

Meanwhile, Allen has gotten used to the shadow of the ghostly '14th' whenever he sees his reflection in the mirror, and the ghost is there present too but no one notices.

After finishing their grooming, Allen, Lavi, Bookman, and Links check upon the main hall, and find out it is partially closed due that Reever and the rest of the science department are making research on the 'Egg of Genesis' to study more about the Akuma.

On the other hand, Lenalee is in Kanda's room seemingly meditating, but the Japanese knows better that she scurried right away into his room because Leverrier has checked in and as well remarks to her that she has always been afraid of the moustached-bastard.
Although Lenalee gets quite a cardiac reaction realizing that Kanda saw through her intentions, the latter compliments her that he has always seen her as a strong woman which gives some courage and reasurrance to the girl.

Nonetheless, Lenalee's moment of peace is cut short when she received a message via golem that Leverrier has appointed her to meet at Hevlaska's place along with Komui.

At Hevlaska's place, Hevlaska is checking Lenalee's innocence and informs that her synchronization rate has dropped to 10% making her unable to invocate.

Hevlaska informs Lenalee that she will take her 'Dark Boots' Innocence and place them within her body in order to repair its form but notes that Lenalee's Innocence is giving off a strange reaction comparing it as similar to that of Allen's Innocence.

Hevlaska is not ruling out the possibility that Lenalee's Innocence is starting to evolve just like Allen's does much to a shocked Leverrier.

Hevlaska comments that just as Akuma feed on despair to evolve, Innocence as well holds the potential to evolve too when feed by powerful emotions. And since the last crusade made Lenalee to gather powerful feelings now swelling inside her, both Leverrier and Komui are implying the possibility that Lenalee's Innocence is evolving from an Equipment-type into a Parasitic-type.

Although Hevlaska has no definite evidence whether to confirm or to negate that possibility, nonetheless, she warns that parasitic-type Exorcists, in spite of mastering the raw and powerful form of the Innocence inside their bodies, nonetheless, must pay a heavy price to use that power.

This information from Hevlaska adds a lot of flavour for the next chapter in case it´ll be Allen who gets there first to fight. Next chapter does give Allen the chance to "redeem" himself in the eyes of a lot of others. But there´s also those two generals that we haven´t seen what they´re capable of yet. I want the next chapter now!

Lenalee lost most of her charm during that Ark's arc, short hair + no action + countless “Allen-kun!”, “Lavi!” etc = ftl
I hope she gets a better role later cause now I’m really deceived.

No matter how many times I see Yuu, I always think of Akeno Shiranui from Seto no Hanayome which gives me a so freaking bizarre view of him *chills*

We've seen many innocences throughout the serie, i can't remember well but, compared to other equipement-type Lenalee's innocence wasn't like a conventional weapon. I mean she never took off her innocence compared to the "weapons" we commonly saw.
All I can suppose is simply that at first glance her innocence looks like equipement type, although we haven't any explanations on how they refined her innocence, we can think that if hers is related to the heart of innocence, the refining was not complete or else. Hevlaska and the others might have conclude to an equipement type while it was a raw parasitic.. The evolving being necessary for better synchronization as we saw with Allen's arm (Allen's feelings were the key for its synchronization). I can't believe innocence evolves their type, it only takes its real form which is necessary to reach 100% or more synchronization.

I feel bad for Komui's he's gonna have a heart attack

Agree with the more romance. But only if it does not interupt the flow of things. But yeah more development between Lenalee and Allen is always welcomed.

About the synchro, yes she metioned the next time Lenalee does it it might be a bad thing. But she was refering in general about everybody having shorter lifespan's by having a parasite type, not just Lenalee but also Allen and Krory.

You gotta remember that they also said that they were not really sure what was happening with Lenalee´s innocence. That it was evolving is merely a guess at this stage. Brace yourselves for the mess that happens in chapter 139.

Lulu Bell's infiltration into the Order was for the purpose of recapturing the 'Egg of Genesis'. However, the horde of level three Akuma did not outright kill all of the staff in the hallway, rather they intended to use them as sacrificial pawns to create 'guardians'.

The guardians are those weird men wearing cloaks and skull masks who Cross Marian beat the crap out of all of them to get into the akuma plant in the previous arc. Their function was to guard the egg.

Some of those 'guardians' performed a sort of oriental ritual with spells on some scientists that immediately turned their bodies into dark matter, and then resurrected in the form of a guardian.

Reever started shooting them all at the head to prevent the enemy from increasing its numbers, but he almost got a close shave with one of those guardians if it wasn't for the timely but sudden arrival of Allen, who in the last page of the chapter looks more grown-up and with eyes of steel, but that's my opinion.

139th Night: HQ Under Attack

The chapter starts in the Black Order's underground waterway, as the three officers under Cross's authority are complaining that their wages for the next three months have all been spent due to purchasing expensive whisky for Cross.

Suddenly, the boat stops since it hit with something that is obstructing the path. One of the officers plunges his arm into the water to take out the object that is blocking the gondola's path, but instead he pulls out from the murky water the lifeless body of the Oceania branch head.

Back at the laboratory, the horde of lv. 3's swarm in causing commotion among all the scientists and research staff, all attempting to escape alive.
By the way, Lulu Bell, careful of keeping up with the courtesies, formally introduces herself as the "Lust of Noah" and announces to the science division that their meeting will be short and swift.

Cut to the dinning hall, Allen's cursed-left eye or the monocle eye activates on instinct due to the presence of the akuma, and he immediately makes no delay, sprinting as fast as he can to the laboratory alerting everybody else.
However, the entrance to the lab is budge shut by a barrier made of black matter, and no matter how much Lavi, Bookman, or Allen strike it with their Innocence it doesn't give in; the barrier as well prevents sounds coming to the outside from the inside.
Allen's desperate to try and break through the barrier in order to save everyone inside the lab, but Howard Links suggests him another way to get inside.

Returning to the lab, almost all the scientists have beaten brutally beaten up and lined in rows, but they're still barely alive. Only two groups managed to escape capture and are hiding at opposite extremes of the lab: Bak-chan, the American Branch head, and Johnny (glasses guy), who has difficulty breathing but still living; and Reever plus five other researchers.

Bak and Reever communicate via phone to assess their current situation. Unfortunately, things turn for the worse when a small group of 'guardians' (skull masked-guys) teleport into the lab from the Earl's Ark in order to do some business, which Lulu Bell reminds to be quick about it due to time shortage.

The guardians start by taking a look at each of the beaten scientists individually in order to check if their victim's brain is useful to them. If they deem it useless, another guardian then paints an "X" mark on the victim's face meaning it has been rejected, and then the victim gets his head squashed by an akuma.

Reever can barely manages to supress his rage and fury building, witnessing at how his comrades are getting mercilessly slaughtered like animals without him being able at doing something; Bak speaks to Reever through the phone that he better keeps composure and not to move from his hiding spot, as the situation won't change even if he faces them all alone. Instead, Bak encourages Reever to have faith, because he knows that Allen's left-eye has noticed the akuma's pressence.

Returning with the guardians, they have now stopped with Tap-Dopp (chubby guy with big lips and bandages on his head). Tap demands those bastards why they're doing this tria-error killing process.
The guardian explains to him that when the exorcists raided the Earl's ark they lost too many members (thanks to Cross), and are creating new guardians by sacrificing researchers with suitable brains.

The guardian sadistically mocks at Tapp, congratulating him for possessing a suitable brain that they found. Skull guy performs a spell on Tapp, bringing forth excruciating pain on the victim that all the present researchers plus Johnny are not able to endure the grief and torment for their comrade's suffering.
In a matter of seconds, Tapp is transformed into a "skull" and is awakened.

Then, the guardian proceeds to move with the next individual, but before he starts again he's shot at the head by an enraged Reever, who has snapped at witnessing what they did to Tapp.
He announces he's section chief Reever and won't forgive the cursed bastards for turning his men into freakish monsters.

But before Reever can move a muscle, the guardian apparates in front of him ready to take advantage of the former's intromission to turn him into a skull.

Fortunately, in a split-second the guardian is cut down in halves upon an astonished Reever who looks up to see Allen, who used the white Ark's teleporter to get inside the lab.

The chapter ends with Allen possessing eyes of steel which carry out his inner wrath, directed at the akuma and skulls for the atrocities they did to the researchers, announcing to them all that he won't be forgiving them.

139 was great! Allen gets the award for best entrance.
