I have read the first two chapters of the manga, and I must say this is such a good title fill with butcher and gore comedy at its gold with a macabre story lead by a sexy and dark-moe princess.

Synopsis.

Hiro Hiyorimi is your average, middle-schooler boy who let's say life has been a regular mess to him on a daily basis. (Un)Fortunately, his misery ended when he got hit by a car, resulting on his skull got cracked opne. Ouch!

Or wasn't he...?

He awakes in the hospital's morgue bewildered, and so heads to where his elder sister works at a rundown, desolated mansion.

Arriving there he watches a blonde beauty of red eyes wearing a sexy, black dress and crown, as she and her moe but very underage maid are fending off themselves against a pack of wolves lead by a vicious werewolf.

Hiro has this feeling burning on his body that he has to go and help the strange but beautiful girl. However, his interference, protecting the girl from a seemingly fatal blow, has the werewolf punching right through his chest.

The girl maliciously laughs and thanks for the time Hiro bought for her, as she callously disregards the boy's well being and within a single but swift movement of the sword she's holding, tores open a hole right through the werewolf's skull.

At the aftermath, the girl acknowledges that Hiro is a good servant in spite of his bumbling idiocy and uselessness. She cuts one of her fingers and orders Hiro to drink her blood.

This scene is not unfamiliar to Hiro, as he eventually remembers that the moment he died he saw the very same girl.

The girl tells him he has become his servant and have fed him her blood once to revive him. By drinking her blood after the second time he has died, he has officially sealed a contract to her and from now on must remain by her side as her servant.

Her name is the Princess, and she and her siblings are the monarchs and rulers of every supernatural beings (a.k.a. monsters) in existence, although the Princess herself plainly admits she's not immortal.

As of this date, volume three of the manga has already been released.

This title is shounen action, gothic dark, gore comedy, and having many moe elements.
Basically, Hiro seems to be stranded for eternity to the Princess's side and must aid her to fend off the assassins sent by her vile siblings.

The letdown on this bargain is that Hiro most of the time becomes the punching bag or should I say the butcher bag.

The Princess displays and exerts highly unorthodox ways to fight the intruders, including motor-fueled chainsaws, gasoline and dynamite, any sorts of razor-sharp objects; any weapon to hack, slash, dismember, blow, grind, pulverize, behead, pound her enemies until all become chunks of flesh.

You see this is the comedy gold of the story, because Hiro also becomes the misfortunate victim to the princess antics and suffers one to other accident on a regular basis, ending him with either some of his limbs separated and having to be sewn back.

As you may or may not know, an anime TV series is on production and to be released this year, likely the spring season.

The manga has already been licensed by Del Rey.

Yes.
I just picked it up at Barnes and Noble on Saturday. Fun read. Though the main male lead has his moments of doing something really cool, there's a lot more of him getting abused by...basically everything.

Anybody else pick up this title?

I read the first 3 volumes online. If you are expecting the typical "Boy saved by girl, boy falls in love with girl, girl falls in love with boy, they get together" plotline, then it isn't present in this series, at least not from the 3 volumes I have read. They have barely developed anything more than a masterxservant relationship, and I am not sure if that will change.

If you are looking for the "Boy saved by girl, boy falls in love with girl, girl falls in love with boy, they get together"plot, you should look in other places, such as Kurohime.

I read a review on this about a guy who becomes an emortal servent to a vampier and then gets killed over and over and over again...I just burst out laughing and had to order it.

There's 4 volumes out and the most current chapter in Shonen Sirius is 23.


Overall this isn't particularly original or outstanding, but it's entertaining for what it is. What really sucks the anime had to get horribly toned down for some reason.

Spoiler for volume 7 thoughts:

The long-awaited volume 7! It doesn't disappoint (as far as Kaibutsu Oujo standards go...)! Of course, more Hime is always great!
If there was one thing to complain about, it is the fact that most fights are not even shown. It shows the characters preparing to fight, and then the next thing you know, it skips to after the fight ends...


The first part of the volume was simple, yet exciting.
Kiniski meets with a spirit-controlling sorcerer and manages to get his hands on an evil organ, which he proceeds to use and attempt to curse-kill Hime. Although the sorcerer plays no real role this volume, it is possible he will later because Keziah mentioned finding a spirit-controlling sorcerer for the mermaid.
Yet he fails and Hime is still alive, since she "overwrote" her memories of the song (the organ only affects people who know the song played).
Not only that, but Sylvia gets rescued by Micasa (and proceeds to become Sylvia's blood warrior), so Kiniski ends up dying because he was a blood warrior himself.
It's kind of a shame, because I thought Kiniski was a pretty good evil character. And you get to see a panel where he is shriveled up.
On the other hand, the Fly Man is playing more of a role than I thought he ever would.
Micasa remains alive, and we see she has a handicapped little sister (human, of course). Not sure what role she will play in the future (if she does), but I am looking forward to it.
Hiro/Riza/Reiri's role in all of this were pretty small. They attempt to stop Kiniski from finishing the curse, but are stopped by lots of vampires. Though in the end, the curse fails.
And finally, what a surprise! Some of Hime's past was revealed!
Not much, but it had two good things:
1. Chibi-Hime showing more emotions than the present Hime ever would!
2. We see that Sylvia probably is scum too. As expected?


The rest of the manga has a new character (antagonist) appear. This time, for once, it isn't a demon, but a god.
Now we have gods in the story...
She seems to be a spider god or something, since she can use webs/string and create giant spiders to fight.
She decided to stay in the school, and when Hime confronts her, she says that in exchange for the lives of students who wander around at night, she would protect the school. However, Riza and Reiri decided to chase her out.
And then, as revenge, she sends the party 2000 years back in time! As expected of a god...
However, Flandre uses a super electric beam and rips a hole in the two dimensions (although they were sent into the past, the area around the cabin was the "present" and the rest was the "past), revealing the god (who was so cute in the winter outfit, for whatever reason she was wearing it). And Hime ends up killing(?) her in a battle.
They managed to return to the present, but Flandre had to stay behind. 2000 years later, Hime and co. find a fossilized Flandre and reawakens her.
And in the last chapter, they visit the professor who created the androids (a giant brain) to repair Flandre for all of the damage caused in 2000 years. This chapter was fairly boring, since it had some Godzilla as a quick and pointless enemy. Though it showed some birdman following Emile now.
It's a shame the god had to go...

Also, Hime reveals that for royalty to become an adult phoenix, they need to blessing of one as well.

Hah... How long until volume 8...

Scan is now up to ch 53 and vol. 12 is released in Japan.

This manga is so far better than all thought ...
It's one of the rare mangas i ONLY buy and don't read scanlations (in France, we are at volume 9) because he deserve it.
