devilman - the 3 ovas.. not the old ita series
devilman lady - series
berserk - series
all 3 are licenced, and all 3 are great

berserk u get to watch people get chopped in half and heads smashed in with swords and whatnot, and in devilman and devilman lady u can watch people literally ripping each others limbs off and ripping open each others stomaches, i have yet to find any other animes as violent as those 2.. but im willing to learn of more

Well most of the things I would say have already been said, though I want to re-emphasize Kenshin.... The fight with that Mibu Wolf has to be the best sword fight in anime history....

but another one is Inuyasha. I would personally say, while I love swords and fighting, I hate ones that drag on and become fight of the week,
but I would say that Inuyasha ends up falling in that field with YuYu Hakanshu and Flame of Recca, but, as with all of them, you can still see some big plot going on in the background.

Peace Maker Kurogane rocks. There is a lot of true stuff in that anime....

Sorry, a little more

Have you seen Fushigi Yuugi?

It is Shoujo, but has a wonderful mix of fighting, magic, drama, comedy, romance, and plot.

Another good Everything anime is Escaflowne. Both are pretty old, but who says old is bad?

Personally, I love everything anime the most. But if you are willing to edge outside of anime for kickass fight scenes, try Legend of the Condor Heroes Live Action 2003. The main characters haven't turned up in what's out yet, but most of what goes on occurs in the martial arts world of ancient china. Some of the special effects are cheesy though. Amazingly, the older live action for this probably had better martial arts....
