Hn, eldest sister... seems like she would be named after a RUM or something or maybe vodka. ^^ Cold, hard, unforgiving - yeah, a type of vodka. The eldest seems like she'd be the most serious one, personality-wise...but we've all seen what our opinion of Kahlua went through when we actually met her. lol

... when she's not fighting. When she's fighting, she is SCARY I'm going to have to agree about the rum or vodka part though... I should probably find a Starbucks menu and see if I can get any ideas off of it

At the risk of being mauled... again....
This chapter didn't do much for me. The little bit of plot development was quite nice, I liked the development of Sun's character and her relationship with the owner of the hotel, and the humor really made me laugh. But for some reason this chapter fell flat for me at the end. I don't even feel all that excited about Gin's fighting in the next chapter... I wonder if something's wrong with me. >__<

One, S1 was already out for a while by the time half of us got to it... i.e., you had more chapters to read. If you want to draw a parallel between the two seasons, Fairy Tale is to S2 what Anti-Thesis was to S1. Things got interesting when we really started getting involved with Anti-thesis... but it still took a bit before the whole Hokuto business (I somehow suspect that Miyabi is the Hokuto of this season, though only in terms of power). We're probably somewhere around the point story-wise when Tsukune first made use of his vampire powers on his own to protect moka... and as I said earlier, those chapters were already out in Japanese, and then we got weekly translations. We have no such luck here... we have to patiently wait for each chapter, so yes, things will drag. That, and introducing a new character does slow things down, because you gotta develop them... I'm sure once Fairy Tale starts becoming the mainstream arc, things will pick up. And as a side note, one must remember, you can please some of the people all the time, all of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all the time (though with this series, I'm definitely in the first part of that saying)

It's just an off chapter for me. I've been in a bad mood for a few days, and that isn't exactly helping my interpretation of the series thus far.

*sighs* Okay you two, time out. Separate corners. Go, shoo now.
Everyone has off days or even off weeks. Lord knows Oh Great is still on one. Anyway, not every chapter is stellar. I mean, how many of us were even missing Gin when the Snow Village arc was going on? It's fine. Besides, the thing with Season 1 was Tsukune trying to keep his humanity in the face of monsters. Now, it's something else. If anything, this might help Gin join the group against FairyTail since it shows how much of an influence FairyTail has in both the Youkai and Human Realms.

I think that's what I'm missing so far for the plot here... the actual conflict itself. In season 1 Tsukune was struggling to keep his humanity, and it was an interesting plotline and very fast-paced once it kicked in. I know season 2 will be no different once we truly know what Fairy Tail is and what kind of influence it has, but the revelation is coming too slowly for my taste. I need my conflict to stay interested in something, darn it. I can't stay interested in something if there isn't a worthwhile plot or conflict.

... you know, I have a huge reply for this, and you're not going to like it. However, I've give you a few days to cool down from whatever's going on, so that this doesn't get any worse than it already is
of course, I have to admit I haven't even read the latest two chapters... and the big thing there is that I'm not sure I trust the scanlation (yeah, I know its the only English resource I have, but I'm going to be a nit-picky bastard and set the bar high)

Don't worry guys the manga will pick up soon.
As long as there's a bit of action, character development and fan service in the manga it's still a good read. We've just finished a major arc, then Tsukune in training now Sun is introduced and what interest me now in this story is that they're in the human world. No updates in Onee-san? Quote:
