Which sub group is reliable?

in naruto episode #86, when naruto's food gets on the clothes of some guy, he says the clothes is worth 100,000 ryos in Bakafish version. But in ShinOtaku's version, it says its worth 10,000 ryos. Obvisouly one of the groups can't even get the numbers correctly translated. and since i dont speak japanese... and i dont even know how much ryos worth, i cant even guess which numbers are right.

Haha, 2 things:

- I haven't seen it, cuz i'm still waiting for ANBU-AonE
- "and i dont even know how much ryos worth" you don't have to know how much a ryos is worth, you need to know the amount of ryos

Ok, i know this isn't the answer you were looking for, but i'm sure that will come soon

Think Bakafish is correct. Said 100.000 in the manga version I got.
Maybe SO did not want it to be to much so they translated it to 10.000 instead ?

Well, I already deleted the episode, but you can check it yourself. If you hear yuuman, it's 100.000, if you hear ichiman, it's 10.000.

It is 100,000. We had it 10,000 by mistake ( an accidental typo ), non of our translators caught that while QC nor did I pay attention to it myself >_<; so yes, it was an unintentional mistake, but the point is still carried across ( he was demanding a large sum of money over a worthless coat ). Other than that, I think the translations were more or less accurate across the episode.

Yours,
-Elly

sg.anime has proved very reliable. Too bad they're out of the biz for 6 months...

Whenever I can spot a number of translation errors with my limited Japanese I have to wonder how many errors was I not able to spot. Seeing obvious errors like this, even if they aren't important, makes me think that important things could also be messed up without my ever knowing.

for some reason it matters to me.. i guess i would like a subbing group to be there when the episode comes out instead of taking a vacation, I know these people have lives but i think and have always thought that if you dedicate your time and ability to do something then you should do it.

let us all be respectfull of all groups. ( as they are all better than sitting there watching the raws wondering WTF is being said.)

I don't like mistakes either but the point was the guy wanted money for a coat that most likely wasn't worth it, if we can not get that out of the conversation (actually you can get all that out of the tone he used) then I'd give up watching anime because it isn't like anyone translates Naruto's constant "dantte bayo" phrase either, yet a lot of anime characters say it

Please try not to be TOO picky on little details.....big ones yes (like completely lost phrases) but if any members complain too much then we may lose a fan sub group completely and I for one need my fix

Plus I don't see any fan sub group signing up in blood to "dedicate" their time or ability to having to do such for us.... plus forbid that someone licences it and then look how Naruto will be ruined.... as when someone liceneces it
1) it takes forever to see it on DVD etc. Dubbed
2) it changed from the original
3) it cost way too much money or "RYOS" to buy

Sub-groups on Naruto?. Baka-san! he was fast and reliable when he was active.. i allways sat down in front of my computer every wednessday night when the subbed version got released. But he quit subbing , I like the one's that are releasing the sub first. Who cares if there is a nicer font in the text on another sub. As long as i can read and understand what the characters is saying i dont complain.
