Well, I'm halfway through Vol. 1 and can safely say they've done a damn good job of translating these. There are, of course, differences between the official releases and the fan-translated ones, but pretty much everything is sound.
I do, however, cringe every time I read 'Holo' >.< I'll definitely be getting Vol. 2 in 2010 |

Reading through the english translation Yen Press release... it reads much smoother than anticipated (I know - I've done my own translation of sections). The translator seems to have captured the spirit of the tale well - even if specific sentences are a bit loose.

Oh BTW I ordered it from Barnes&Nobles, after countless searches..
Hm should have ordered it from Archonia, they supply the slip cover... I doubt B&N will do that, but who knows? (yup it still did not arrive, ordered it a bit late. I hope I'll get it Monday). |

Hmmm, you're in Australia.... not sure what book chains are down there.
Amazon and Barnes&Noble are two online sources though there may be overseas shipping.

^^ There really isn't enough data on light novel releases here in the US to make a solid determination on the average length between releases. But I'd call it an aggressive release schedule for light novels on the whole. On the other hand, a 6 month release schedule seems to be what Yen Press is aiming for for several of its novel series. So who can say for sure?
That was quite the qualified answer, wasn't it?

One thing I am glad about is that Right is getting some more copies in and supposedly the dust cover will come with them as well (at least that what they told me), so if your stalling not know what to do, go ahead and order it. Hopefully mine will be in soon!

Volume XIV (14)
Okay, just a quick post about volume 14 of the Spice and Wolf series, which will be released the 10th of February, or tomorrow from when I'm writing the post.
Spoiler for volume 14 - from Amazon:
Just thought I'd share that. Don't think it's a spoiler because it's just the back cover of the book, according to Amazon.co.jp.

Hmmm... I am tempted to peek, but but you won't sway me. I'll wait until I'm there in my reading to find out for myself!
Ending this year? Well that royally sucks. It dang well better have a phenomenal ending and no loose ends! I think it will; I just hope it surpasses my expectations (which tend to be very high and often admittedly unreasonable).
