I think it sorta didn't help that in the context of things, apparently the big monster and its user were on the attack before the show's events and apparently the issue isn't done yet afteward either. But again, shows like Alien Nine did the same exact thing and it turned out to be pretty compelling watch if for the brief window we get to see into that world.

In fact, I think a ton of anime OVAs and short series do that quite a bit.

I guess I was spoiled by Eve no Jikan... I ended up being a bit disappointed by this after all the build up. Ah well, it wasn't *bad*... but for me it overflowed with missed opportunity.

I think there could definately be a series in this down the line, feels like there's alot to explore and explain. I feel this was a very good set-up/introduction to quite a unique and interesting world. I liked it, hope we see more in the future.

Spoiler for Cencoroll:

Hmm, watched the trailer, seems to be some type of flying whale with rockets in his ass with wings with missiles.

Hmm. :/

This is a little like Eva, it doesn't necessarily make sense or fit into some standard way of thinking, its just made to be different.

Something I forgot to mention before that I found quite curious (in a refreshing sort of way) in this short movie was the bizarre apathy and boredom the characters employ. That might be saying something about Japan's youths (or youths everywhere in general), it might not. However, I thought it was interesting and absurdly funny (Narutaru this ain't); the quiet atmosphere certainly fit the tone.

Well this is one of those things that was pretty nice to watch, but definitely leaves you wanting to see more. Feels like this could have been a special intro to a series. The way it ended definitely felt like it could go into something more. Gave a taste and that was it.

Still had some pretty fun moments. Go forth giant pudding ! Not to mention one heck of a finishing blow there. Forget the complicated weapons sometimes you need something simple like a bat.

Just finished watching it.

The only thing I can come up for this one-shot is that it was "cool".
I felt like it lacked some substance though.

Poor walnut.

Anyways, I agree with the someone who said this resembles more of a fantasy than a science fiction. The only thing sci-fi about it seems to be the electric-powered remote control ahoge, while the rest is about monsters beating the crap out of each other. Cenco is still adorable as hell though; long live internal beauty!

Nonetheless, I suppose I don't regret spending those 26 minutes. The animation was, of course, beyond all of my expectations, and the interactions between Yuki, Tetsu, and Cenco were hilarious as hell. Despite the lack of music (or perhaps because of it), the show felt surprisingly immersive, allowing me to enjoy the story even though I don't know what in the Sam Hill is going on.

If a Cencoroll series is going to be made in the future, I'll definitely be watching it.
