- Continuum Shift is incorporating Street Fighter 4's Arcade Fight Request, which allows you to play through single player while waiting for an online opponent. But now you can turn this feature on during Training Mode and Arcade Mode.

If fighting games take anything from SFIV, it has to be this feature. Also this should make you player 1 if it's like SFIV so I won't get sick of hearing whatever character I main theme, over and over, and over again.

Actually pretty good they're added it to training mode, I'm hoping Super SFIV does the same, I know Super SFIV lets you play arcade mode while waiting for team battles though.

Lambda will be a new Nu-13, right? Since Nu fell into the cauldron? Or is Lambda just a recreated Nu with upgrades? I haven't checked. Dial-up and all the usual stuff weighing me down.

In Tager's Arcade Mode in Continuum Shift, one of the fixed battles is against Lambda-11. Kokonoe seems to have built/created her somehow, and tells Tager to fight her as some kind of test for her power.

Play-wise, she's basically a toned-down version of super-cheap Nu-13, having quite some of her moves changed/removed.

Lambda-11 is the salvaged version before Noel(12) or Nu(13) from a destroyed calderon. It has the same personality as Nu as it's shared across the clones but follows Kokonoe commands due to control inputs Kokonoe put in. It/she also lacks the other half of the fake azure that Nu had and since it's a earlier prototype it's explains why she's weaker.

Lambda-11 is a failed murakumo unit Kokonoe had Tager retrieve during the War of Ikaruga (explained in Tager's short story in the BlazBlue Materials Collection). Lambda originally had no soul or powers and was inert, but Kokonoe cobbled up something together by putting a modified and powered-up version of Tager's causality device called the "Idea Sector" into her and after Nu disappeared into the cauldron and died, she extracted Nu's soul from her drifting corpse in the bounday, inserted it into Lambda's body and then wiped the memories. The result is the pseudo-Murakumo Unit, Lambda-11.

ZeroForever is technically correct about the Saya-derived murakumos sharing memories through the boundary. But technically they all have seperate souls.

And Hakumen doesn't have a face, he's a disembodied spirit in a suit of armour.

Rachel gave it to him there as noted in his 'true' ending when Nu and Ragna form the Black beast and time travel with him chasing them, thus making a hakuman for the loops as the original Hakuman is currently the Big Bad.

How exactly did Jin's soul/essence get into SUSANOO unit, or explain the situation. His story (well, his and Haku-men's) wouldn't explain as much as i'd like.

Was his soul int he cauldron, and he was simply inserted into SUSANOO unit? Or did he get it from a third party (Kokonoe or someone else.)

Confused. I like Haku-men, but I wouldn't know the first thing about him. Well, besides he is Haku-men. xD

Its extremely difficult to understand if you didn't complete the story mode but, I'll try a little

Spoiler for Long and complicated Hakumen spoiler:

When Jin chased after Ragna and Nu in one of the loops, he made it out barely alive.

He learned the truth of the Black Beast and the loops but its too late.

At this point Rachel appeared infront of him, offering him a chance to atone for his sins. His sin of taking Saya away and killing Ragna, which caused the whole cycle.

He accepted and his soul was removed from his broken body and put into the empty Susanoo Unit. The Susanoo Unit is one of the 3 Holy Treasures, the other 2 being Rachel's Tsukuyomi Unit, her satellite deflecting shield and Amaterasu Unit, which is the Sword possessed by Mu-12. They are based on a Japanese myth, but I'll not go into that.

With his soul implanted into the suit, he gives up his old self, to become a completely new being void of a past, he names himself Hakumen, which means 'White Mask'. Its a symbolism of himself becoming nothing, no longer human, his only purpose is to fufil the Susanoo Unit's purpose as the Anti-Murakumo Unit weapon. Susanoo Unit is created to destroy Murakumo Units, meaning Nu-13 and her sisters.

He was sent to the past to defeat the Black Beast, which is the combination of Ragna and Nu that he chased into the Cauldron as Jin.

I'm not sure if you can digest these, but there is a whole lot more to the story. Like why there has always been only one Hakumen in all the loops, what's the origin of the Susanoo Unit, how can Hakumen and Jin exist together, Hakumen's relation to Kokonoe etc.

I'll fill in if anyone wants to know more.

... Mu-12's sword is not the Master Unit Amaterasu, it's "Kusanagi", the true Murakumo. Master Unit Amaterasu is the main control unit for the Sankishin, it's hidden away in the Boundary and only Noel's eyes are capable of ever finding it. Rachel believes its Noel's destiny to unite with Amaterasu and change the world while Terumi wants to use her to destroy Amaterasu.

I've heard some people suggest that Mu-12 is going to be like fighting Justice in Guilty Gear but so far it seems like pure speculation.

Yes, but the way it works in Japanese anime and games is that the less clothing the more powerful the character. For men it seems to be the more handsome they are. Here take this one Ero-RPG I was looking into last night for example and how it handled pallet swap power tiers:





As you can see a little less clothing translates to some HP gains while bloody lingerie translates into 100 extra levels in the minds of the designers. I'm sure the same idea is behind Super Noel too. Midriff bearing outfit and thong equals power up.

Sometimes it even works that way for men too. Take Altered Beast for the Sega Genesis. Starting power is a slightly muscular dude. POWER UP and he gets super buff...POWER UP again and then his shirt explodes off to demonstrate that he is now in fact even more POWERED UP!

Eh, I bet the NA boxart is gonna end up being different. NA PS3 one got the Japanese Arcade OST art after all. (Not to mention the PSP and European boxarts are different too.)

Still it's good to see it looks like they're not planning on completely neglecting Nu. Her fans should be happy bout that.
