Uh, as far as canonocity and how Sunrise is a tightwad about it, I figured most people shrugged that off. Word of God (that is head writer/creator materials) > Sunrise's dictatorial canonocity rules in my book, anyway... As well as anything with enough clout to seem reasonably canon, for example BT (being a voice drama and a manga, and having no conflicting statements with canon).
Except that you have it backwards. Sunrise basically dictates what they are looking for. Why else do you think they're listed as "planning" and what not?

Perhaps the meaning of existence lies within their will to fight.
People feel a sense of accomplishment through battle.
And it’s also a fact that the ones actually fighting are never perceived as being tainted.

..What do I have backwards, exactly? I'm not sure what you're referring to.

In my post, I was referring to what I take into account with canonocity.

It depends on the person but a manga doesn't have to animated to be considered a canon in my book. Frozen Teardrop being written by a script-writer makes it canon in my opinion. And considering mobile suits will be in the manga, it conflicts and thus retcons the statement at the end of EW.

The narrator's final statement in EW was: "After Colony year 197, peace has returned to the people. And from this point on in history, weapons called mobile suits, including the Gundams, were never seen again."

One of the bullets reads: "There are going to be new mobile suits appearing in the novel. Focus will be on their militaristic nature."

they're probably gona change the wording around to be no more MS in the AC timeline, making room for this and so it makes sence in turn a gundam (which was a sequel to all the gundam shows before it)

Why do people keep trying to force Turn A Gundam into everything? :/

Turn A is in everything. If you wanna talk canon that's "Tomino" Canon, nothing supersedes him.

As far as the ending to EW goes, maybe the new MS will be called a mobile weapon instead, BOOM, fix't.

A simpler and more plausible solution would be that the new machines are Mobile Dolls.

Haha, that was actually something I always found interesting about Wing- tons of MS, but I don't recall there being a single Mobile Weapon throughout any of the story or side materials (I haven't read through all of Last Outpost and Tiel's Impulse so I can't say for sure, but I don't recall ever seeing them.)

Honestly though, I have a feeling they'll just retcon.

How come people are going through this "And there were no MS....happily ever after" crap?
It's a no brainer that according to the Turn A Theory, Gundam X was supposedly after Gundam W

Mobile Dolls are still mobile suits; they're just unmanned.

Tauruses, yeah. Last I checked we didn't know if Virgos were actually built with cockpits because they were Mobile Dolls from the get-go. Frankly its the name that matters the most, though; they're dolls rather than suits.

Its a cheap explanation but along the lines of the one already offered.

Found a scan of the prologue to Frozen Teardrop...

(Anyone want to translate it into English?)

Based on reading the pages, I'm guessing that it's the prologue.

True.

Unlike the Taurus' page, Mahq.net's pages on the Virgos don't mention an optional AI system meaning a cockpit might have not have built at all.

To your initial point though, even if Mobile Dolls appear in the novel, it would be weird if there were no normal suits to combat them.
