If you had like Mai HiME then I definetly recommend Toaru Kagaku no Railgun, though Toaru Majutsu no Index goes before it...

The reason why I recommend Railgun is because they are quiet similar...
Firstly both anime are about school and teenagers and both are mostly concentrated on female characters with super powers.

Both series have good sense of humor as well as mini yuri involvement.

The animation is nice and it has some cool action scenes, so yeh I do recommend it.
Ah, and they both have dramatic moment involvement as well.

And Mikoto Misaki is slightly similar to Natsuki... is a target of yuri, has a lot of funny moment involvement, strong, is seriouse yet shy too... a I guess you could call her tsundere...

Thirding Claymore and seconding Samurai Champloo. Unlike the person who mentioned it, I felt Samurai Champloo was quite action-packed.

Ansalem - Thanks for all that info! I appreciate it.

Samurai dono - Thanks! Glad you liked those reviews.

God of Peace and poops69 - I've already seen Code Geass (and R2) and Soul Eater. I agree that they're excellent action-packed animes.

Bonta Kun and kitten320 - Thanks for the suggestions! I'll probably look into one or more of those animes eventually.

Vantek - I recently watched the first two episodes of Claymore, as I've now heard good things about it from several different sources. It definitely has gripping action, and the female lead is pretty cool. Thanks for the suggestions.

No problem

And yeh, Claymore is a cool anime with some nice twists and characters. Though anime has anime original ending, not manga one. So if you will like the eseries, I recommend to check manga later too. The difference starts somewhere in last 6 episodes.

I second this very good anime.

& already said claymore and black lagoon.

also maybe try these:

Hellsing a zombie giest action packed theme quiet gory.
Tenjou Tenge school fight club style lots of fighting but one or two episodes of talking but still has fighting.
Kenichi the mightiest disciple although more then 24/26 episodes it is fantastic and really good not boring funny and action packed
Oh and Berserk very action packed but not very school like its very well medieval and i thought it was kind of scary haha

Did someone say Needless? Cuz, you NEED to listen to these people!

Also try Black Cat...I can't remember much about the plot, but I went through that series like a rat thru jiffy it was so easy flowing with the cool action...
Fly since ...

If you just want action, what about Tenga Toppa Gurren Lagann?

^That is if you don't care about any logic and want it to be as humour packed as possible that you can't take majority of happening things seriously...
