Saimoe Champions Thread
Oh, figured to make this thread here - since many of you are frequent trackers of the three existing Saimoe formatted tournaments.
Listed are the finalists. Champions listed first. Names in red bold are multiple title holders. Names in bold are multiple finalists. You mean, there's more than these three? These three are of particular interest as they are held annually with a strong set of rules to follow. In a sense, these are... the "majors".

I've noticed in the Japanese version in particular that 'family ties' tend to bind a champion too. The Applefields in 2004, The Hiragi Twins in 2008, The Rozen Maiden sisters 2005-07 and the Nanoha/Fate couple as well.

I think there is a Chinese saimoe, a manga saimoe and others. But there isn't as much info on those. I think I recall a trap saimoe once. And of course there was the ill fated Sai Gar to determine the manliest anime character. But 4chan was involved with that, so it was doomed from the start

Shana's good at winning silvers in non-necklace rounds. =/
I'm confident she has a VERY strong chance of winning this year's ISML Tiara (considering the momentum she's riding), but if Mio isn't the one going to stop her, then I sort of fear for Shana when she has to inevitably face Hinagiku again. |

As for those "interesting questions," I have the excel files for all the brackets you see in ISML's Statistics page, if any should request them.

Let's see if Mio can start winning in J-Saimoe first. She's doing well in the other 2 at the moment.
Mikoto could put herself in serious contention for a triple crown if she pulls an upset against Shana in ISML in addition to her other matches.

...on the other hand, given that Shana had recently been successful in defending a necklace title (and followed that up with another necklace win) as well as the fact that Hinagiku has ALWAYS beaten Shana in the moments that REALLY count, I'm partially preparing myself for their match-up. Though that may be put to a stop if Tomoyo wins her match tonight. =/ |

@KyuuA4: I suggest keeping the 3 separate Saimoe articles for now, and make http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saimoe link to a general article (instead of redirect to AST) describing what saimoe is and maybe a brief history of the main tournaments, with links to the 3 Saimoe articles.
The data isn't put into a database, it's a nice reference since you can do a search to find matches: Let me finish compiling it and send upload them for those interested.
