I've read this manga, and the story scheme reminds me of Fullmetal Alchemist in a way, where there's a lot of funny moments combined with some serious situations.

It seems that Bleach is going to be one of the new Anime's coming out. Hopefully it won't be licensed immediately. From what I've seen of the promo just posted today, it looks like the animation is going to kick ass.

I wouldn't be surprised if this anime is one of the most anticipated ones that we have here, along with Naruto.

(My hope is that the licensing companies are put off by the fact that this anime deals a lot with death and the afterlife in a way that's not pc for US sales... but hey, that's just me)

Since it's officialy not being subbed YET (i.e. episode 1 hasn't been released yet)
For some reason the mods prefer threads about anime in general anime.

So as soon as ep 1 is on the net the thread will be moved here.

Anyway...go to General anime[bleach] for now.

This will be the first anime where i read the manga from start to finish(151). I can't frickin wait! It'll be funny seeing ichigo and karin animated with their non-chalant attitude.

Speaking of which... does the manga show any signs of finishing yet? I saw lots of new volume 14's over at my local Kinokuniya recently, so I was wondering...

I hope it doesn't stretch out too long. I've only read the first volume, but it was fun and I enjoyed it.

I agree about the bad promo music, though...

I think the music is the opeing because I heard the ending 0_o its like somthing boat or what and it is pretty bad too, its english 0_0

Wow, I'm so glad you asked because here I am to gush about the ending song "Life is like a Boat" I have the single and it's not like an ending song at all, a very nice piano ballad that's not sweeping or sad or anything, but very..."pure" I guess you could say.

It's sung by Rie Fu , who is one of my favorite new singers. She's lives in England and Japan (+), speaks Japanese and English (++!), has a great voice- not to screechy or grating, but not really low and gravelly either.

I'm going to watch the first Bleach episode just to hear the ending song, and I'll give the anime a chance too. (Although it seems much closer to the Inuyasha/Naruto end of the anime scale than to the, oh say, Paranoia Agent or Last Exile end of the scale.) Boy, that comment sounded stupid :P

as it is now...we can expect at least an additional 50 chapters

About the manga.... With the latest round of power-level inflation, i would guess its more like 200to go then 50....

Yeah, it won't be over soon. I would say it will go on at least one more mayor (~100 chapters) arc after this current arc. I would like to see more Hallows.

I heard that they use the ghosts to fight. They may have differences, but if the plot lumes on this, then it isn't very original (in comparison to shaman king).

Don't worry though, it's only early speculation. Like I said before, it will hopefully edge away from any connection to shaman king.

yay ep 1 is out, it follows the manga closely some added scenes and some edited scenes btu i was happy with itt the op was horrible though, i love that they kept some of the blood in i can't wait for ep 2
