but didn't i remember those suicide suits does such a pathetic damage that it took hundreds of them to destroy one CB ship? seems like a couple of GN field-piercing missiles does more damage than hundreds of those.

i don't see how they're more lethal than missiles.

That's pretty much what we spent the last thirty days analyzing the crap out of. Check the romance thread for details.

The Gagas are a decent concept when you have a God ego like Ribbons but the main problem with them is their potrayal in the animation really(the animation already got the number visually wrong. There's only suppose to be 100 of them), taking advantage of things like the critical state of the Tau Drives in Trans Am. Profile wise they're suppose to be stronger than they were potrayed. It's not the only time where Ribbons' let his ego go over his head though. It would not surprise me if the Gagas were just super cheapened mobile suits with the mass produced pilots solely for the reason of entertaining Ribbons and streak terror on his enemies for the alpaling senseless death of things. They are however a lot of them and they're still plenty even some time after the fighting.

It's a bit like the GN-X IV is suppose to be as strong as a Gundam but is not so onscreen.

The second CB ship got destroyed by the Gagas, too, when regular missiles and beams weren't cutting it. I imagine that if the 00 production team had a bigger budget by that point, the Ptolemaios would've looked more trashed by the Gagas.

Are grunts ever as strong as a Gundam?

How can you even compare the two? They're in two different leagues of their own. The only exception would be ace pilots, of course.

I think the problem would be portraying the Gagas way of dealing the damage ot only dealing a certain amount of damage to the crew without it being as boring as it actually appeared in the current animation.

In reality, never. (unless your pitting a GN-X IV against the 0 Gundam)

Profile wise, they're suppose to be that. They're generally suppose to be the same power that can match the Gundams.

But of course, the ESF did not see the new Gundams before the crisis so maybe their basing it from the S2 ones.

That's probably the case. Remember how the Ahead was supposed to be stronger than the Gundams as well? I'd love to see what a side story could come up with for an ESF mobile suite (GN-XV?) more powerful than the movie Gundams.

If Fon Spaak was in the 0 Gundam, it'd win.

Probably when the DVD's out, but that's a long wait.

I'm hoping to catch it next month at AFA 2010.

Don't recall any statement anywhere about the Aheads beig stronger than the Gundams. Their supposed tonbe stronger than the 3rd Gens; that was mentioned in the HG I believe but iwas never stated to be stronger than the 3.5/4th Gens.

Anytime from 4-12 months from now. I know it's not specific but that's the realistic estimate.

What's the AFA 2010? It's too bad you had exams during the movie showing cos you happened to live where it was being showed. Even I had to travel to Singapore by plane.

Anime Festival Asia 2010, right here in Singapore, some time in mid-November, I recall. The movie's been mentioned to be screening there as well. Yeah, it's too bad, my parents didn't allow me to catch it last month, so I'll do so in November.

I was referring to them being stronger than the 3rd Gen. I'm merely pointing out that each unit the ESF points out is "stronger" than the previous gen, so I'd love to see what's supposed to be "stronger" than the movie Gundams.
