Thanks to 7netshopping, we have the official cover for Surprise (Latter Part): (My preview lacked the (後) beside the title among other things that were barely noticeable) Edit: Amazon has uploaded a good quality version of Volume 10's cover. I've spoiler-tagged it due to size, not for content. Spoiler:

But then people would just import everything and not buy the English versions!
But in all seriousness, I agree with what you're saying. It wouldn't even be all that hard to make, really, as they could just use the "teach English to Japanese fans" one as a base. Though I'd imagine that could end up feeling weird, depending on how they went about making that.

It's counting down until midnight on May 25th in Japan as that's the first time anyone can purchase the first press edition of the novels. Previously the beta website had static in place of the information (besides the FAQ) but now the website shows the information almost exactly the same (the North High/SOS Brigade examinations) with "corrupted" data instead.

There's a new listing at a store titled MangaOh club that likely gives us some new information on Surprise. On June 15th, the same day that the regular editions of Surprise (Former) and Surprise (Latter), Kadokawa Publishing will be releasing a new Haruhi Suzumiya Official Fanbook. In the description of the new mook, they state:

Whoa, two new novels are being released on May 25th? Badass.
I've always wondered if Tanigawa took such a long hiatus because he felt overwhelmed by the levels of popularity the anime brought the franchise to. I know that I'd feel flustered and pressured if I were in his shoes by the first season's insane popularity. |
