I'm enjoying Nichijou more with each episode. That first segment was straight out of a Miyazaki movie, and finally Nano and the other girls' lives start to intersect. I hope there is more of that in future episodes and this wasn't just a tease.

Finally, Nano and Mio intersect each other thanks to Mio's older sis...
and the wooden cube, lol, it has no meaning to Mio, its just an accessory to her hair.. Nori Waka was on preview as a wooden cube, i hope we hear his voice on next episode..

So he's like really good at it or something? I'm sure a lot of seiyuu's are good at what they do so what makes him stand out?

Sorry, but I'm finding it hard to care about this guy and how supposedly "godly" he is.

Even the haters and the perpetually-on-the-fence viewers must admit the attention to animation detail is stunning in this show. Even high profile projects like Clannad and Kanon didn't get this level of attention to every little aspect. Every CRAZED eyeball spinning around to the action scenes in the manga (the Deer wrestling was nowhere even CLOSE to as crazy as it is in the anime. I loved it!) just puts to shame just about every animation effort this season by far. It's kind of like how Panty and Stocking was for Gainax before, like the comedy or not, the animation was undoubtedly stunning and you could tell love of the animation of the material is there.
It'd be nice if this show gets the sales and support and all, but man, I'm just falling in love with the animation in itself, despite my love for the original manga series. I'm just loving how every 'internal dialogue' moments keeps showing manic, minute animated quirks on characters' faces and gestures. They spared NOTHING in showing the manic nature of those crazed dialogues. |

It seems the OP's segment is on what going to happen in the 1st half of the series, because we had:
- Yukko with that hammer and block things - the gundere bazooka - the two teachers - the girl at soccer club - Sakamoto with (a lack of ) his cat foot - Nano's daruma - professor and her snack (result in Sakamoto's shaved ices) - Nano meet the old guy - Yukko and Mai during Mai's "love confession" - Nano and her screw - the gundere and tsundere - principal and cursed doll natto - the teacher and his bamboo shoot - Yukko and her cramped hand - Mio's (second) sister - Sakurai-sensei with the cat doriyaki - the male teacher - football club members (again) - Nano and the cockroach - Professor and her milk (and roll cake)

Wakamoto Norio is specialised for comical-manly characters, or just mainly full of GAR, King, Boss type acting. His voice control is among the top of all seiyuus; he can read 30 seconds script in perfect control without breathing. Many animators even say if Wakamoto's voice doesn't match with the animation, they will fix the animation; this actually happened a lot. But shit, listen to it yourself in youtube or just watch animation that has Wakamoto for god sake, instead of complaining or bitching about us saying that. It has nothing to do with preference, it is just damn obvious and objectively true that he is very good. There is almost no-doubt he is one of very few most experienced seiyuu who survived until today.

What second sister? The one we see this time looks to be the same one we saw earlier...the ones that chased Mio down in the mask after making her late just to take her money...and get a corkscrew punch for her trolling.

Episode 7 of this was genuinely very good. Definitely my favorite Nichijou episode.
The first few minutes was a huge and largely pleasant surprise to me. Dolph was loads of fun. Totally shocked that Nichijou could produce a villain like that. My only disappointment, of course, is that he was killed off so quickly. Still, I really, really liked that opening bit. I also like the following: 1. Scenes are getting quicker, and less drawn out. This makes things feel a bit less forced and more natural to me. It feels lively and engaging. 2. The male teacher having a crush on the female teacher was pretty cute and endearing, I have to say. 3. Various character groupings are starting to interact more with each other. Linkages are being made. That's very pleasing to see. 4. There's some semblance of plot now. I'm not going to get my hopes up, but it would be great if that continued.
