he tells me he's a staff from a show going around the city asking foreign folks questions about what is strange about this city (Osaka). so i say two things that come to mind. first, super tamade. it's the bright lit building in the background of the picture. a supermarket that is lit up like vegas from far. a casino parlour of some sort i thought, but it was just your local good ol' grocery store with unbeatable low prices. second, i told him that i once came across a vending machine in a certain part of town that sold canned curry rice priced at 100yen. comes out warm and with a plastic mini spoon attached. the restaurant owner comes by our table and hands the man the canned curry (i gave the owner two cans as a present the day i found it). blown away by it he asks if i tried it. the day i saw it i was curious and hungry. and to my surprise the curry rice was not too bad i told him. then a few weeks later at a ramen shop for lunch, i get several phone calls from friends telling me they're watching my face slapped on tv something about canned curry rice. |

Yes. To be exact, it's an archipelago. Do you guys remember the islands of Sumatra and Borneo (Kalimantan)? Those are parts of Indonesia too (though in Borneo's case, 1/3 of it belongs to Malaysia).

The Krakatoa's eruption was SO powerful it destroyed the said volcano itself. Leaving a new volcano on its deathbed that's called Anak Krakatau in my local language which means Krakatoa Jr.
