Random observation: the "Prototype Type-99 EM Radiation Cannon" we see on Yui's screen in this ep is the same thing we see Yui's "uncle" (I get the feeling he's not a blood relation but someone she knows well) showing to that lady from the Five Regent families in ep 1.
Chekhov's Gun much? Would LOL if Yui pulled it out in ep 5..

I just started watching this series. I'm at episode 4 though I must say whoever wrote this ep is projecting.
Some Japanese are notorious for being xenophobic. Here it is Yuuya's American grandfather doesn't like Japanese, especially one that impregnated his daughter and didn't take responsibility. Which explains Yuuya's surname Bridges. Kids being bullies to a half Japanese Yuuya projects how half Japanese kids are bullied in Japan. Maybe the writer thinks if it is true in Japan it is true in other countries. |
