gunkata and long range gunfighting is nice but it still depends on ammunition which is not limitless. There will be always a point where it will be empty and you will be left to use your melee or close quarter fighting skills.
Ah I love storm vanguard.

Except knives and swords get structurally fractured and "used" as battle goes on - they can last longer then ammunition, but no sword or knife will last a protracted battle with BETA.
You can always whack something with the gun. Its several dozen kilograms (if not tones) of metal hurled by a mecha. Or carry bayonet attachments, since its implied that 120mm gun in actually a module. U.N obviously never watched Starship Troopers. "Reloading? Reloading is for Bugs!"

But they ought to have the Starship Troopers novel, which was written in 1955, and by Vietnam was on the official mandatory reading list for the United States Marine Corps.
Too bad the 120mm module isn't a Picatinny attachment, else we could have TSFs recofiguring their equipment on the fly, just like Nanosuit operators. Edit: Or maybe there are stability mounting issues with a bayonet... that said the YF-23's experimental rifle did, IIRC, feature a bayonet attachment. As for the no resupply inside the hive: That, my friends, is why God gave our American allies such great pastures and many beautiful women to bear strong children to staff their army, since they can then afford to deploy orbital divers in greater numbers than other nations. If you had several battalions making an incursion into the hive, it would be possible to bring supplies and setup combat outposts - in fact, that's exactly what the Japs did in TSFiA #27: Valkyries Hereafter, during Operation Sledgehammer.

It might be good to move the discussion to another board since this is an image thread. Last edited by Silvance; 2012-10-29 at 17:55. |

Y'know, restarting Extra (I'd only previously played about 1 hour of it, and then I decided I ought to replay it, but ran into some problems and lost my savegames and...)
Anyway point is, I decided to just go with the flow and try to see how things would turn out, and not deliberately go for any heroine... and then THIS happens: Spoiler for This is gonna suck...:
Screw this, time for Meiya route. ...and yes, I wouldn't mind waking up next to her- *Goose is killed by Tsukuyomi sisters*
