Announcement of an unexpected sort.
Another series I never expected to get picked up for 'casting because, like Da Capo, no season of it ever had. Welcome to the future. |

I really enjoy Minami-ke, but the key to it is to not expect too much. When Funimation calls it "hysterical", that's just what it is not. The charm is the subtle, almost believable comedy. The characters feel like people you might have known. I would not surprised if, many years from now, I start mixing them up with actual people. "Have I told you about these friends of mine, back in the days..."

Well ... I hafta admit I liked Itlandm's analysis, but even so the particular execution of that recipe does not really work for me in any of the seasons thus far - it's not bad, and makes me chuckle sometimes too. But it is not bellysplitting. I guess it seems the most effective for me when it is endearing.

This episode turned out to be even better than the first one, all the sketches were highly enjoyable. I especially like the fact that the staff has nailed the timing of jokes (almost)perfectly, which in my opinion is the most crucial part of any comedy show (which is a rare sight nowadays, unfortunately).
As always, the only real downside of this show is the same as any other good shows' - a week is a pretty damn long time to wait for the next episode |

Oh, wow. Episode 3 was really entertaining. A few more episodes like this and I'd argue that this is way better than season 1. The girls look a lot more adorable in this season and Hitomi's voice acting isn't so out there anymore. Banzai!
Looking forward to Fujioka's role in Minami Quest in the commercial break.

I love this series so much. There really is never much to discuss about, but it is such a joy to watch. The Minami-ke franchise is probably one of my favorite series all-time. It just feels so nostalgic to watch. It makes me feel like I want to curl up under a blanket on the couch next to a fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate and watch the show. The vibe and feel of the show is unexplainable how it just gets.

Hmmm..am I the only one who is not really impressed with the first 3 episodes? The humour is a hit and miss for me.
I can't really complain, can I? I have been warned not to expect much anyway, lol.

Oh wow, sensei and Ninomiya-kun are back! We hadn't seen them since the first season, correct? That was nostalgic.
I'm loving this season so far. It retains much of the charm of the first season, and the comedic timing is perfect. They were all cute. No pedo.

The show is bringing back a lot of elements from season 1, but Kawaguchi is still adding his own touches, like the SD eyecatches between segments. Also, the Kana-Touma-Chiaki trio is well versed in the scientific method in regards to the waterwatch theory. I also like that Touma's expertise in handicrafts is being emphasized here. Gives her a new dimension compared to past seasons.
