Expanded interview
http://www.metalgearsolidtv.com/2013...ut-ground.html
*Kojima mentions the idea of Platinum developing Solid Rising but finds it too hard due to it being an intersequel
*Rising is selling well around the world
*Kojima congratulates PG for their work
*Even Kojima knows about the fans. (f they got anything wrong it would have reflected very badly on them.)
*He also repeats the issues with Ground Zeroes

Meanwhile Raiden is getting a figure with Liquid's hair.

I beat the game! It was fun! Last Boss was crazy as hell!

And I managed to get every left hand in my first playthrough (also was able to save every civilian and got all the "human" dwarf gekkos).
Time to get the MiB, VR terminals and Data thingies.

Yeah, this one's a real life saver. I was so used to dodging that I totaly forgot you can't do this in the prologue, so every time I tried to dodge RAY I was like

The Raiden I hated in MGS2. Seems to be more proportionate now with his body.

I don't know about you guys but I like Raiden more in Revengeance than MGS2 and MGS4. Here he is a lot more social and talkative whereas in Solid 2 he was kind of awkward and in Solid 4 he was silent and depressed. He is also more heroic whereas Solid 4 was a bit tired of living although Solid 2 Raiden wanted to save the hostages. The scene in which he is confronted by Samuel and Monsoon must be my favorite moment from the game as it kind of defines Raiden.

It's an alright scene and all.... but gotta say.... that "evil laugh" from Quinton Flynn at the end of that scene was kinda goofy in my opinion~

01./00. [PS3] Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance # <ADV> (Konami) {2013.02.21} (¥6.980) - 335.791 / NEW
Highest launch of an action/hns game in Japan since DMC 1. B-b-but the DmC fanboys told me the genre is dying and that's why it bombed.

Great job Platinum. Well deserved.

This game is kicking my ass, I don't think I can play anymore and I don't want to turn down the difficulty either because it will bring great dishonor to my family.

Its sales made the best Platinum opening

This is even more awesome when you note that Shinkawa based Raiden's armor on the medieval knight.

Still haven't seen any actual sale number. I want to see how good it's doing.

Here the Famitsu (Enterbrain) launch numbers.

Quote:
[PS3] Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance # <ADV> (Konami) {2013.02.21} (¥6.980) - 335.791 / NEW
- Nr. 1 on chart
- Highest launch for this kind of action game since DMC 1 (352,668).

Kojima interview where he said it's selling well WW.

Quote:
He said that Rising is selling well worldwide so far, giving him further license to do as he pleases. The man is near-untouchable at the moment, but he remains humble, piling immense praise on Platinum Games’ end-product. Should a Rising sequel happen, Kojima wants Platinum back for round two.
For the actual US numbers you will have to wait until next month when the NPD numbers will be leaked.

If you're somehow playing Very Hard or Revengeance for the first time, there is no dishonor

That's a pretty huge achievement 0_0

(Oh btw, their next excuse would be Metal Gear is a bigger brand name than DMC )

300k+ in total for both PS3 & 360?

Quite honestly I think if it wasn't for DmC, Rising might not have as many supporters as it has right now.

So to me DmC really was their big break... For Platinum

MGR? PS3 only. There is no 360 version in Japan. It was cancelled during development.

I think so too. DmC was a big disappointment for many. I mean BP and Vorgil DLC was released and it's like no one cares. I am happy. Platinum finally gets the sales they deserve and we get a bloody awesome action game.

The only sad thing is that barely anyone from the media commends Platinum for basically saving Konamis ass and developing this game in 2 years.
