The episode tones down the comedy a notch to deliver some quality slice-of-life. I couldn't help but sympathize with Midori in this episode because I'm all too familiar with that little spot of frustration she found herself. As usual, KyoAni manages to present a detailed depiction of her guilt and avoidance, alongside the feeling of release after revealing everything. Yep, this one hit pretty close to home for me.
I've spoken at length on this, and I don't think many will agree with me, but the whole subplot with prince really doesn't jive well for me. As such, I wasn't exactly thrilled with how the episode ended. But whatever I might think, this show is somehow both an eccentric comedy and a slice-of-life, so I guess it's a matter of course, just that the two aren't necessarily compatible all the time. Still, this remains as truly fun show that manages to capture the richness of human experience.

There is no way in hell Tamako is going to leave the shopping district. She loves it as much as it loves her. This episode wonderfully showcased that.
The prince's bride will be Choi. They even went through the trouble of confirming they are not related. I doubt this was just a throwaway line. As for the love triangle formed around Tamako, it will most likely remain unresolved. Neither her relationship with Midori nor Mochizou have progressed enough over the course of the show. And Tamako is still not interested in romance as far as I can see. It's all about mochi and the shopping district for her. Even though her screentime was minimal this week, Kanna still managed to stand out. "Those are some nice support beams"... Quote:
You guys will never give up. That's not going to happen. I would be so saddened if Midori ended up with a guy as beta as him. I would be saddened if Midori ended up with a guy, period. Go away with your heterosexual delusions!

Seriously. If she had to end up with a guy (and good lord I hope not, not with the kind of character development she's had), at least pick a different guy. Mochizou is such a goddamn herbivore. I doubt he can provide any "pleasures of a man"^
