that serie has everything to excel so i don't understand how the author still manage to screw up.

Basically, the author try to make develpment in relationship between character ( Kinji and Aria inthis case) which is not a bad thins, however he screw up because the character personality he created is too extreme, Aria is Tsun from start make the supposed quarrels in romance became just the usual stuff that's we are all sick off from reader POV and while he make Aria the main heroine, he can't pull enough changes in her character like toradora. More over, HnA isn't a romance-oriented LN in the 1st place, thus the execution of this quarrel is rather terrble.
P.S: personally, if he use this chance to separate to separate these 2 for good and let Kinji enjoy his Badassery, i'll be very delighted but that's just a fleeting dream.

i tough so but,them beind so dere toward kinji seem out of character to me,but in spite of being almost as anoying-and infuriating-as the infamous ichika,i guess all girls(bishoujo)are fated to behave like that at one point or another,with him.
as for the fourth girl,no she isn't aria,woeover she is.
Just a short passage from Vol 12. Not putting it on BT since it is most likely inconsistent with tenses, style, terms, etc. and I never had the intention of putting it on BT. Plus it's unedited since I usually just focus on understanding the Chinese and put in less effort on the translation if I don't plan on putting it on BT. It's just self practice since Chinese classes ended for the semester. Anyways, here it is on the off chance someone would be interested in reading it, although I'm pretty sure this was summarized before or something.
Spoiler for Vol 12, beginning of CH3, Moe Mochizuki:
"T-Tohyama-kun, yesterday......"
On the morning of the second day, Moe came looking for me the moment I sat down.
"Yesterday?"
"U-Um, in the bicycle storage......there......"
Haha, this matter was about the punishment I underwent. In the past I have had to endure a couple of bullets from Aria in Butei High every day. Because of that, it became nothing out of the ordinary and this trivial matter was already forgotten. However in a normal school, it seemed this was supposed to be a rare sight.

Tears shined from Moe's eyes as she gazed at me with heavy emotions.
W-What should I say in this situation? Sincerely telling her "I felt it was pretty interesting" didn't seem suitable.
The somewhat anxious Moe and I , who was at a lost for words, didn't say anything to each other as things became silent between us.
A moment later, the class bell rang......In the end, I had ignored Moe.
I had pretty much accustomed myself to the sounds of daily life. As for my studies......regardless of what subject it was, I felt hindered by my surroundings.
Teachers naturally had no reason to be obligated in caring for the weaker students. Class would continue to advance onwards like this without me understanding anything.
While incomprehensibly listening in class......I fell asleep.
In actuality, I had already drowsily fallen asleep many times. It was Moe at the other table who would poke me with a pencil, calling for me to wake up. As if she was looking at a cute animal, Moe would always wordlessly display a "time to wake up" smile.
Her smile was really cute. However, it did give me——a headache.
Moreover, during the lunch break that day I had lost my appetite due to the pressure of not understanding anything in class. Unable to eat anything......and unable to resist this sleepiness, I leaned on the desk and fell asleep.
By the end of the day, I had become the same as Aria when she was in elementary school.
After school, Reki went to participate in the art department's activities. Turns out I might as well walk home by myself.
(That girl, her drawings are quite amazing......could it be that she went to go oil painting?)
Unable to bear the unconstrained youthfulness from the students in school, in order to protect the heart's balance......I sat on a bench in Higashi-Ikebukuro Central Park where there were only little toddlers around, idling away till evening.
Unexpectedly, there were very few people who came to this downtown park. For me who wanted to be alone, it was a rather great place to be. Furthermore, this scenery in front of me with myriads of fallen leaves was really elegant. It was as if nature was the only friend besides me.
I, who was unable to help myself from sighing like a retired old man, faintly heard an awkward yet gentle voice, "Bianca, s-stop running".
(Sigh......)
It was Moe's voice. What was she doing here?
I could not help but turned around. Seeing her tug......no, it was Moe being pulled as she walked her beautiful fluffy collie.
What's unfortunate is it's just like the movies. Moe, who was wearing a warm overcoat and a long skirt, incidentally caught sight of me.
Ugh......there's no way to dodge her now.
"T-Tohyama-kun!?"
Her eyes widened and Moe, whose expression seemed to say "this is a miracle!", was shocked to the point of almost falling on the ground.

Moe then let out an "Aha" sound. She revealed a splendid smile whose warmth could have been felt around the world.
"T-Then Tohyama-kun, please wait here for a moment! Bianca, sit down! Sit down, Sit down!"
It took a lot of effort to make Bianca sit down on the bench......With her dotted wool scarf lightly bouncing, she jogged towards Sunshine City.
"......"
At first it appeared to be an opportune time to quickly leave her......however there were too many cars around. Having to watch over Bianca in case she escapes, it was best to just calmly wait.
Soon after......Moe came running back with a running style that felt lacking in motor capabilities. In her hands, she held two meal bags from McDonalds.
"This one is for you."
"......?"
"T-Tohyama-kun, you haven't eaten lunch right? I-I'll also eat one."
Moe placed a warm bag in my hands.
It's true I actually didn't eat lunch......she really saw right through me. Well, I am next to a table.
It was also the same for her as she sat down by my side.

Not wanting to begin by eating first huh? That girl really does have an aristocratic-like upbringing. Thinking back, Aria-san, who was truly of nobility, opened it up right away. Perhaps nurturing has nothing to do with environment with regards to this aspect.
After eating for a while, Moe, who was sitting next me, suddenly faced me apologetically.
"About yesterday......I'm sorry for leaving. I went back to the school since I was worried about Tohyama-kun, but Yada-san glared at me while holding a baseball bat at the entrance......so I left......"
Yada-san?
Ah, she means Reki. Geez, how could I forget the surname I come up with for her.
But what the heck, what was Reki thinking? Why would she be glaring at the completely harmless Moe?
"I......get really agitated from all the kicking and hitting, that sort of violence. I would never be able to trust anyone who would do such things."
Thinking about it for a bit, she was probably just being considerate of me since I got into fight and lost (or least that's what it looked like).
"Yeah, it's really pointless."
Being from the embodiment of violence that was Butei, I went along with what Moe said......Taking out a napkin, I carefully wiped the grease stain from my fingers after eating the hamburger. If my hands were to slip off of the trigger......no wait, I don't need to contemplate these things anymore.
"You ate so fast. You must have been hungry." Moe smiled as she spoke.
Seeing her chuckle like that......it really makes my resistance go down. Because of how amiable and cute this was, anyone would feel joyous from this one-hundred percent, pure as pure smile.
"That's because when I'm eating——"
——My hands would be preoccupied. The dangers of an attack would be really high. For that reason, the food should be eaten as fast as possible.
I closed my mouth the moment I was going to reflexively say that. This bad habit of eating too quickly from my time at Butei must be changed.
Just like that it became silent between us.
"A-About that, Tohyama-kun. I......yesterday, at home I was agonized over not properly thanking you. So if there is anything that......I can do for you, I would like to repay you......"
Wow, she instantly turned the conversation towards virtue. Kinda like Reki except she would express murderous intent towards me a second after expressing thanks.

I have experienced Watson forcefully push for repayment before, but as a Butei, participating in yesterday's battle (?) could be considered as indebting someone. To even up things, either money was to be collected or the person was entrusted with a mission.
However, in a normal society I had no clue what to do when being owed a favor.
"Well then this Mcdonalds meal should set things equal."
This counts as money too does it not. Although it's only worth a few hundred yen, it should be suitable for that scuffle.
"That won't do."
What? Moe seems......somewhat disappointed. This......could it be that other than repayment, it embodied some other intention? However, there doesn't seem to be any pitfalls......what's going on......?
I mulled over this in confusion. Moe caught a glimpse of me and said,
"Then, c-can I ask you something......Tohyama-kun, are you......going out with Yada-san?"
Huh? Yada-san and I? Why would you ask something so random.

As soon as I responded, Moe completely turned around in an instant......being somewhat surprised. The teriyaki burger in her hands got compressed a bit as she did a little victory gesture.
Even though I was completely baffled her actions, I do feel that......Moe is really a girl who was born in a world that is completely opposite of the Butei world. I believe that even when dealing with adversity she would use verbal communication to repeatedly warn. There's the sense that she was a product of society who became even more of a peace advocate than I ever was. In that case, her actions were riddled with flaws.
However she......is a good girl, a really well-behaved girl. Furthermore, she looked very cute.
As I unwittingly pondered over these things——ouch——out of nowhere, an acron to hit my head. There wasn't any trees above me.
"......?"
"Whose the brat that did this", I cursed to myself as I surveyed the park. By the looks of the people around here, there didn't seem to be anyone suspicious.
To go as far as not exposing one's presence when sniping the head of a Butei, this person is quite adept......
At this time, after finishing her hamburger, Moe stated "I'm not dating anyone either......A-Although there is already someone I'm longing for......" as she was finished up her lukewarm coffee. She then took another glance at me.

That's very impressive. Back then I heard from Watson, I'm in the SDA (Skilled Detective Armed) rank......a generic name for those who were exceptionally placed. Basically she was ranked 89th on Asia's inhuman list.
Nevertheless, placing 89th on the national mock exam is really quite something. Moe must be really intelligent.
"What I'm saying is, I can teach you what the school is teaching you. Furthermore, subjects like contemporary writing are my strong suits......"

——What happened?
I felt as if we were being watched. But who? This feeling......it isn't some thug, I'm afraid they are from Butei.
"W-What do you think?"
I nonchalantly replied "Ok" to Moe's inquiry as I scoured the surroundings while staying calm and collected. At the same time, the other party concealed their presence after realizing that I was already on to them.
Clever indeed......this person is definitely skillful.
"T-Then, could you please give me your cellphone number!"
Besides me, Moe took out her cellphone which had a clear decorative jewel strap.
Right now it would cause danger if I unnaturally stand up. All movements must be very natural.
