My relationship with Hinagiku has been variable. Back in the first season, I saw her as one of the cast, nothing special. (Except for that one particular episode. One of the very few times I've seen an AS thread have an 11 on the poll. Or images.) The second season actually made me dislike her a little bit due to the sheer amount of focus and praise that seemed to take away from the rest of the cast. But time can patch many things. This forum is hardly as active as it once was, and the cast focus is being spread more evenly in the series itself. So how does a Hina episode appear to me now?
Pretty enjoyable, actually. Having Eight back in some form, and the comedy focus of the story, made for a fun half hour. That volleyball match is just the kind of thing I expect from Hayate, and as long as Izumi and her friends are around, good times will be had. (Even moreso next week, but that's for next week.) The episode's central idea of Hina wanting Hayate to rub her shoulders got some nice payoff at the end, and even the swimsuit gag at the start came back into play. Yukiji and her money grabbing and fake boobs. Not bad. This season is the most I've enjoyed Hayate since the first. |

I really enjoy this episode, Hina was really cute, she wanting Hayate to rub her shoulder and all.
I think the anime has become a way to just get money and promote the manga (just look at the previous anime)

They are beginning to destroy the Greece arc bit by bit.
In the manga, this was an important "build up" chapter which led to Hinagiku running off mad, Hayate chasing after her and rescuing her from running off the cliff, the two almost sharing a kiss, and subsequently resulting to a dinner invitation from Hayate to Hina, where she intended to confess. Instead, this ramping up was dropped this way. As a standalone episode, reasonably fun. But it could have been so much more... Ah well. |

timeline got messed up again... suddenly Nagi has go back to the mansion
well, Hina ep is okay.... so I approve this... but I think I can't tolerate upcoming episodes anymore (they have done A-tan and Hina... now... no more favorite char... or maybe they will do Ruka soon?) |

Strong-willed girls with fighting spirits tend to flow their femininity outside when becoming shy about not being honest with their own feelings, that's their cute charm working for most boys.
Of course, it helps to skyrocket that cute charm of theirs if they happen to wear beautiful swimsuits while playing beach volleyball, but running the risk of getting embarrassed in front of that person they like the most. However, it doesn't help if the boy of that girl's affection tends to say something stupid like telling the girl to be more modest and mindful of her exposed femininity, for example, since surely that statement kills the fantasy and romance, embittering her mood. |
