The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition (PC) is now available; currently on sale for US$42.49 worldwide, and is a free update for all existing owners of the Witcher 2 on PC.
Also, everyone who owns a legitimate copy of the Witcher 2 from outside of GOG.com (digital or retail) can get a DRM-free backup copy by going here: http://www.gog.com/en/witcher2/backup/ http://www.thewitcher.com/backup/ I haven't had a chance to play this game, but it seems to be too good to simply pass up... What makes this game good? I'm leaning towards buying this game.

One of the best rpg out there bro. You should play it seriously. But start from The Witcher then go to sequel. Its better, even if the story isnt directly connected.
Enchanced edition... Damn, not enough time to replay the game T_T @Linkark07 yea i prefer saskia too, hell, shes a dragon + daughter of one of the greater dragons Geralt was friends with before, who wouldnt wanna tap that. But i got over it, there was a lot of debate on this but i can understand lore-wise, shes meant to be the virgin saviour or whatever, so they had to keep her clean. On another note, she fancies dwarfs... Sux Geralt aint a dwarf. |

I hadn't played the game before, so just got started with the EE version. Making a playthrough out of it. I also 'think' I've added a graphics mod or something. I think at least, not like I can wholly tell without having played the game originally. Most won't care but intro + start:
Looking forward to more!

Should I play the first one, or will I be fun jumping into The Witcher 2?
The more important question...how will my PC run this game? Specs: Radeon HD 5750 1 GB Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition (quad core, 3.2 GHz) 4 GB DDR 3 RAM (PC 1600) Also, I hear the controller controls are better on XBox 360. Should I play this game with keyboard and mouse?

This game is absolutely fantastic... One of the best RPGs I've had the pleasure to play!
CD Projekt RED are also one of the best developers around at the minute, with all the stuff they're doing for gamers. Free updates, free dlc, the Enhanced Edition was free if you owned it on PC already AND they even gave everybody a backup copy on GOG which is insane... However, one thing I don't like is that the Enhanced Edition seems to have messed something up with the optimisation because I used to be able to play it maxed out, with the exception of Ubersampling but now I can't :/ People say it's the cinematic depth of field and options like that, but it just seems to run a lot poorer now. |

This is a week old, but CDPR shows why they are the most awesome RPG maker of the present (well, story-based RPGs at least) by releasing the REDKit, an honest to goodness full featured modding toolkit which allows official creation and support of mods for The Witcher 2. It's been in closed beta testing for a while and is now open to the public:
