I'm probably thinking too hard about this, but I think there's more to her guilt than dead soldiers. Didn't she say she was going to join the Military Police a couple months ago? I know I'd feel guilty if I were abandoning the front line for the inner walls.

July 13's episode should be chapter 19, if they go chronologically.

July 13's episode should be chapter 19, if they go chronologically.
But it's not like she ever thought the front lines were a safe place to be, she's too realistic for that, after all, she was the one who pointed out to Eren the irony of the top 10 being allowed into the military police

I might be wrong, but I think there’s a lot of heavy censors here and there in this episode. There wee some moments when I hear voices and noises but, on screen, we get stills of Annie, the replayed Eren’s titan-face, etc. What’s exactly happening there?

Beside that, a solid episode, but I also feel it’s kinda stupid for the soldiers not to just carefully slice those titans necks when they only paid attention to Eren. Hell, they practically turned their back on the soldiers. Why they have to draw their attention and died in the process? It should’ve been easier to kill them from behind compared to the usual operations where the titans focusing on eating the soldiers. What the fudge?

What Mitabi's squad did they could've easily have taken out 2-3 of the Titans right there.

To me it seemed unnecessary.
It's because they are in a flat land with no building = can't leap like spidermen. Rico did it by jumping from the wall and that was only possible because that titan was close to it. And Mikasa is Mikasa, no one else has that much luck or skill.

She mentioned that it's messed up that the people most suited to fight the titans get to be the furthest away from the titans.

There was a lot of issues with this episode but nonetheless it was great especially during the Eren gaping the hole part.

Hope all this issues will be fix in the DVD/Blu Ray version.

8/10

oh, and @boytitan their problem isn't the budget, it's time management. That's the reason of the recap, to give more time for their animators to work.

Correction felt it was total crap. Choppy animations,Shit music, Shit stills,Crappy misplaced pop music, CRAP STORY DELAYING FLASH BACK. Crap recap on top of already long intro. My patience is becomeing very thin for this crap.Pointless filler that made every character involved look weak as crap 4 people in the top ten can't kill 1 freaking 7m class slow as ever titan bullshit,Not even bleach was this bad and that show is my go to reference for horrible anime that started good and became a turd sandwich.

Way overly censored getting real sick of this crap with censors gona go re watch gantz or a kenshin ova to get a good appreciation of what a blood bath is supposed to be. HOW DOES A MANGA THAT GROSS SO MUCH GET SUCH CRAPPY ANIMATIONS IS THIS A JOKE, I'm not laughing.
.....Calm down. Don't like it, drop it. Simple as that.

And shit music? Really? Wow. And comparing it to Bleach, I guess you forgot how the anime was. Shingeki's and Bleach's animation don't even come close.

"Horrible Anime" is such an unfair judgment for Shingeki. I guess you haven't really watched the real horrible Animes.

I agree. I don't like vocal tracks as BGM anyway (there are some good one though), but Sawano's shit is on a whole new level. Maybe he should stop doing music for anime and instead start working for a japanese radio station At least not all of his work is that bad.

IMO Sawano’s music is epic as BGMs. If you really want to hear some really shitty BGMs, go watch some 80s movies that has techno BGMs ala The Terminator. Even though "Terminator theme" itself is a classic and memorable, the BGM in that movie is beyond horrible imo. If a guy like Sawano should stop being a composer then dozens (or maybe hundreds) of other composers should also follow due to lack of ability compared to him.

A short recap at the beginning was good.
It was nice that Eren pulled himself together.
Luckily Armin succeeded in snapping Eren back.
Things are finally starting to feel hopeful.
The cleanup took a while. So many casualties...
That win didn't seem like a win since so many had lost their lives.
It feels kinda unfair they're still treating Eren like an enemy..

Strictly on the animation side, it's a really shabby thing Wits is doing, skipping frames like that, not to mention unfinished colouring (purple bricks lol). They might as well put on a picture show through and through like they've been doing since the beginning and it would've actually worked out for the better.

I'm not gonna be an apologist for the staff shortage/tight schedule the studio is suffering from 'cause they're teaming up with Production I.G afterall. They have nobody but themselves to blame for poor planning and inadequate work allocation. While it's possible to skip an episode or two to alleviate the workload, this is probably not an option for Wits since, unlike a 1-cour show, they've committed themselves to 25+ episodes so I reckon they cannot afford to mess up the broadcast schedule lest they end the show abruptly. A re-cap episode on top of what's already there at the beginning of each ep is already pushing it 'cause it means they'll have to pack the story in tighter from now on, or skip entire scenes/arcs which will probably enrage the audience even more.

Which it really don't make sense. If the top 10 are among the best the military could offer, then why waste their useful potentials that could contribute a better, hopeful future of humanity, just by isolating them from the hell-hole fill with titans? Though it could be understandable that the government don't wanna send the best men to dust, but they chose to send the lower-class grunts to the front-line instead, while keeping the higher-class at bay just to conserve manpower. And for what? Serving the government? Getting a higher-end lifestyle? In such an apocalyptic time like this?! I'm very curious of the government's martial law. I don't understand.

It's truly a pity. This show has such a huge potential, an awesome writer, an awesome composer and an awesome director, it could be the a masterpiece but it ends up having so many flaws animation wise that it completely undermines its value.

It wouldn't be as bad if it was a low budget adaption by DEEN, you wouldn't care so much about those flaws, but here seriously Shingeki no Kyojin deserved more than this.

It really makes you wish for a future remake in the end.

According to one user that talk about this, the user believes "the best ten can become a police" was designed that way so most of the graduates have to work hard to improve their skills if they want to join the police. So that way, even if they lose ten good soldiers for the police., there will be others who did well but didn't get into the ten that are still be available to the Garrison and Recon forces.
