Uhmmm... I've been tinkering with my setup... I am basing the tone from the guitar tone from 4 songs (these is 2 of them). I'm trying to achieve an overdriven/Distorted rhythm tome which is often used in K-On songs. And this is where I stood now...
https://soundcloud.com/lightmusicban...o-maniac-setup Could you give any tips/suggestions to improve this setup? (except for a new guitar. Man, I need a new guitar). Don't mind the bad playing though, it's been a while since I last used my guitar (last time was December last year). Need to regain my callouses... @Gitarisuto, scans were provided by some people from this thread. Unfortunately, a lot of them don't seem to login anymore. But I think Trenton had scans from Honey Sweet and Joyful Todays... but IDK...

@Gitarisuto:
I dunno, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be an A-minor and the score is just wrong. The synth parts are all playing A minor or Am7, and when I try playing A Major there it sounds a little dissonant. I have the book containing "Joyful Todays" and SirSlarty's scan of Honey Sweet Tea Time but not any of the others. I'll see about getting them out when I get home from work. Unfortunately SirSlarty isn't around anymore so we don't have any other source of scans from Let's Music 3. Also, both of our scans are just camera pictures of the book so they can be pretty hard to read sometimes, sorry.

Haha, after taking another listen, you're right. That's alright, "Joyful Todays" and "Honey Sweet Tea Time" are very much appreciated. ![]() I see some members have posted covers using these tabs, so I figured I'd post one of mine. xD Here's "Cagayake Girls." The score was really helpful in learning it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbUhDVKYnEQ Edit: I was going through Pure Pure Heart just 'cause and I caught a couple errors. ![]() 31st measure there, that should be a C#m, not a C#. That's only the 1st prechorus, it's fixed in the 2nd one. ![]() Nothing wrong with that, but I think it's octaves, not power chords. ![]() And there, that first F octave should be a G instead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg5Hg2mno5c is this what you called "clean" or jazz ? and what drive did I need to use to have a same sound in the video ? ( I only have zoom g1x pedals ...I tried some experimenting but still I can't make a same sound )

On a G1 series pedal I would accomplish that by using the Fd drive model and turning compression up to 6 or 7. Turn the gain down a lot, to maybe like 5 or so. I find that dropping the lows and boosting mid and treble a little can make it more punchy, if that's your thing. Either way, your EQ settings can have a really big effect so experiment a little.

OK, I finally got around to transcribing "Stylish Mistake" from the movie soundtrack. xD It's just the guitars for now, I may add on to it later but I don't know if I can get those keyboard parts written out... To avoid a broken link due to possible updates in the future, I won't post the file link here. You can find it in the "K-On! Movie" section of my tabs list: http://joshuataipale.wordpress.com/
EDIT: I've just finished transcribing the YuiAzu version of "Fude Pen." It can be found on that site as well. EDIT 2: I also got around to tabbing out "Pasadena FWY" (the tab is on that site). I wish I could indicate the key changes and whatnot, TuxGuitar is terrible about that and doesn't save any key signatures I add. A couple notes about the way I wrote it out: The tapping part in the middle is recorded separately from the previous section, with the previous notes holding out for a couple measures. I wrote "(E. Guitar IV)" and "(E. Guitar V)" above those parts to indicate this. Also, there's a very quick part in the solo that is fingered a little awkwardly. Feel free to move it to a more convenient position, I wrote it out based on the what the slides, hammer-ons, and pull-offs indicated. EDIT 3: Added "Dead Soldiers" to the list. MAN it was a pain transcribing the lead guitar part.... It's relatively close, I played the tab along with the song many times to make sure, but there are definitely some errors. The bass and drums are included! EDIT 4: I wrote out "Isoge ya Isoge!," all parts. A friend of mine helped revise the percussion. EDIT 5: F-feedback would be nice... ^^; Anyway, I came across this video, Toshio Uchida playing a guitar solo followed by Tom H@ck. Notice the trilling part about 14 seconds in, that's basically what he does in the guitar solo for "Singing!" I say this because I thought it would be a nice visual aid for anyone needing it. ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8r-MHqvF3os Last edited by Gitarisuto; 2013-05-07 at 18:17. |

Has anyone tried multitrack layering? I think it's pretty effective to make it sound more studio-like (wide).
Here's something I tried: https://soundcloud.com/xylph/guren-no-yumiya https://soundcloud.com/xylph/oath-si...i-instrumental https://soundcloud.com/xylph/pride-scandal

It might cost quite a bit for the shipping though (it's about 1kg). However, I still recommend at least registered air mail as a bare minimum so you have less of a chance of it being lost in transit.

You could try Amazon Japan. I'm pretty sure Amazon ships anywhere in the world, though, as blaze0041 said, watch out for shipping and/or taxes. Although living in the U.S., I order my band scores from there.
