Thats Poland.

Interestingly enough, many of the countries they represent don't even have tanks during WW2...

The choice for Spain is interesting, their school is called the Blue Division High School. The Blue Division is known for their participation in the Eastern Front in service of the German Army.

Most people IIRC thought BC was Canada ... France gets to go twice? Really.

China must be really offended it didn't get any representation now - I mean, we all know why China wasn't invited to this party, but letting France go twice is just a bit much

Probably. It's a reference to Vichy France.

It also explains why France is represented twice, as the country was divided in two sections during the first years of WWII.

Here are the school names and the countries they represent, in case no one mentioned it before (unles I missed it):
1. Viking Marine High School (Norway)
2. Koala Forest Academy (Australia)
3. Pravda High School (Russia)
4. Bonple High School (Poland)
5. Maginot Girls' Academy (France)
6. Anzio High School (Italy)
7. Saunders University High School (America)
8. Oarai Girls' Academy (no country listed)
9. BC/Vichy Free School (France)
10. Saint Gloriana Girls' Academy (Great Britain)
11. Yogurt Academy (Bulgaria)
12. Waffle Academy (Belgium)
13. Black Forest Girls' Academy (Germany)
14. Chi-Ha-Tan Academy (Japan)
15. Blue Division High School (Spain)
16. Jatkosota High School (Finland)

Given how that it uses the Cross of Lorraine, I think we've had things backwards as the cross was used as the sign of the French Resistance, and later on the Free French Armed forces under De Gaulle that marched with the Allies into Normandy.

This means that Maginot has been the one representing the Vichy French all this time. Yikes.

Or one is just 1940 France and the other is later war Free French Forces. The first using Char B1s and the like, and the other using lend lease equipment.

Could Oarai have been modeled on the German Army Panzer Divisions and Black Forest Peak been the SS Panzer units?

Given how the Maginot Line represented the old-style fortification and defensive thinking that came at the end of World War 1, I do think that it's likely it does represent the French forces under leaders like, say, Petain.

I have a question.

In tank vs. tank engagements why do they have machine guns at all?

- IRL IMHO, Two purposes:
  1. Machineguns for getting rid of infantry around the tank/riding the tank or exposed tank commanders
  2. Potshots to get a tank's attention (how else do you get the attention of someone in a heavily armored vehicle with a loud engine?)
- It also depends on the type of machinegun. General-purpose machineguns in World War II (.30Cal or 7.92mm size ammo) are mainly used against infantry and vehicles like jeeps or trucks. Heavy Machineguns like the iconic Browning M2 (.50Cal) are for light armored vehicles and sometimes aircraft.

In GnP, I think it's mainly for the potshot factor than anything else.
