So for my guess...the Puzzle of God was a way of selecting a host for whoever Orpheus really is. Wasn't this something that Yu-Gi-Oh did?

Wow, this series has been so good recently, the two most recent eps especially. Finally we had both some Nonoha and some Elena (today's ep was a really fine Gammon & Elena episode, awww), and the actual plot is pretty good, too. They're really going all-out in this season... (probably since they know it's the last one)
One thing, though, we finally saw Nonoha with her hair down, when is it Kaito's turn? His hair is longer now, and he's turned into such an ikemen, it would be a crime not to make him let down his hair at least once! |

Sooo.... this is over, I guess? It was a nice episode, and I appreciated the use of the very first ending song, it was a nice touch. Also, hey, Nonoha exists! Unfortunately it was too little, too late.
The problem is, that the last third of S3 just... didn't work for me. :/ I mean, the quality was still there, but it focused way too much on Raetsel - I never warmed up to her, and frankly I grew annoyed with her after a while. My dislike for Rook didn't help, and I spent quite a bit of this episode rolling my eyes. I wanted to see more of my man Herbert (seriously, where's Herbert? he wasn't even in the POG bits), more of the original harem helping Kaito, and especially more Nonoha, who was, again, completely underutilized in this season, and to be honest the staff's jokes at her expense didn't help my overall experience. Oh well - the first two thirds were very enjoyable, this last episode was sort of okay. I don't think we'll get more seasons, but if we DO I absolutely demand more Nonoha and Herbert, and definitely less Rook (unless he goes back to being yandere) and Raetsel. ETA: Okay, I'd be lying if I said that the ending song and the end card didn't make me go "aaaaaaaaaawwwwwww *sniffle*" It makes me want to rewatch S1... Episode 24
So, exactly what is Raetsel lacking? It seemed that, no matter how many times she tried to rewrite her past, it always resulted in Jin saying she lacks something and couldn't take her with him. It's probably also connected to the fact that she doesn't really know what to do with her life.
And is there anything Kaito can't do? Just when Orpheus claims Raetsel can never be freed from her prison, Kaito proves him wrong and does just that. I'm still unsure how this will end, but I guess I'll learn soon enough.

I knew it would be disappointing from the start in terms of Nonoha's development
But the very few scenes she did get in the last episode were cute. Oh well, I will remember phi-brain being very enjoyable atleast in the first season. THey should have concentrated on the main 5 but they didn't this season. I liked Kaito returning to seaon 1 outfit. His best IMO. |

Having watched the final episode, I have to ask did Kaito in his make belief world make a promise to Nonoha to solve puzzles together? Is that why Nonoha was there as a POG solver? Does that mean Kaito perhaps always wanted Nonoha to have some puzzle solving abliy to solve puzzles with her?
