It's quite a bit more detailed then that, the game is 15 years old and has 20 expansions. But it is the general gist of things, atleast up until the Planes of Power. The Plane of Time instance where shit went down, was kind of frustrating (not just because it was releasedd unfinished!) because after the fight Druzzil Ro appears and yeah, resets the timeline so as to make it as if you never did what you did, essentially putting you into an eternal time loop for loot, lol. Later expansion covers the apparent destruction of Norrath though, where you meet Zebby again and you have to prevent the planet from being torn assunder by the temporal rifts.

Tasmania is part of Australia now!?!
Ahhh EQ2... came so close, yet missed so much. I liked EQ2, the lore was interesting in the way Alternate Realities are and it had a few interesting things, like the ability to change faction in game via a questline (wish WoW had the ability to do that, and no I don't mean a faction race change). I did it on my Necromancer, was good fun, but I didn't spend much time on it as WoW came out and consumed my soul for the next 10 years.
