Mentioned, but I doubt they took time and effort to draw him if they didn't plan on him having a role.

1 cour confirmed.
Unless the studio has in plan a split season still it wouldn't be the first time a character is shown and only has cameos here and there.

Just look at Index II PV, it had Acqua of the Back and Terra of the Left of all characters their role on that season barely(specially Terra) qualified as cameo

And it's the same studio(JCStaff).

To be honest, I strongly question several artistic decisions.

Seal with grey hair? She doesn't look like the cute lively waitress, she looks like a grandma.

Ryuu as a _blonde_? What the hell are they thinking???

And while it's not quite as that bad, I still feel that Hestia's hair color looks strangely unnatural.
