Sieglinde comes across to me as a quiet, calm, very nice teenage girl, who is naturally introverted and opens up to people very cautiously, and selectively. But when she opens up to you, she reveals a reliable, mature big sister figure. |

Harry and Els have an entire conversation about this, coming to the conclusion that Sieg is "friendly but shy." She is, indeed, quite shy. She wasn't hiding behind that bucket of popcorn, or sitting there with her hood pulled down over her face, just for the fun of it. She gets very nervous when she attracts much attention outside of her matches.

I'm not that surprised by Sieg's voice. After all she does appear to be the Hayate to Vivio (Nanoha) and Einhart (Fate). Not necessarily the voice I would have gone with, but I'll give it a few episodes to sink in and see how I feel about it.

Thanks to Nanoha ViVid, I think I finally understand "gap moe" (a form of moe that I kinda grasped intellectually, but not as much at an emotional level).
Most of the characters in Nanoha ViVid are highly aggressive, passionate, bold, and competitive when it comes to things like physical training, magical training, and formalized competitions that are basically the mage versions of the real world's UFC. There's a definite fierce hotblooded edge to all of this. Let's be frank - these girls seriously like kicking butt, and are prepared to risk getting their own butts kicked to do so. But then, before and after the battle, many are as sweet and cheerful and friendly as any person could be. They'll even be downright nice to people that just literally knocked them out cold. And this contrast is a fairly consistent feature in ViVid. There appears to be nothing these girls like more than kicking each others butts. It's not like this is just playing conventional video games, either - These girls are feeling serious pain and if this was real life, I might be worried about long-term brain trauma many of them could suffer from repeated concussions. But then after their UFC mage battles, they are the very picture of cute girlish camaraderie and friendship. Hotblooded badasses "in the octagon" and sweet little Princesses outside of it. This is an amazing contrast. This is an amazing... gap. And this gap does make the more conventionally moe moments stand out even more. It makes for an even stronger moe, you could say. Is this "gap moe"? It seems like that to me. In the case of Sieg in particular, I'm highly amused at how the defending Champ herself is remarkably soft-spoken and humble (at least in her words and how she carries herself). For me, that gives Sieg "gap moe", you could say.

As for Sieg, she is quite genuine with her humility. She truly doesn't see herself as someone other people should aspire to. However, that doesn't stop her from being willing to mop the floor with anyone who thinks they can take her on. She's adorable. And everything I learned about her just made me love her more.
