Just thoughts on spinoff mangas
To be frank the several spinoff mangas mostly have a
different atmosphere and cast. The closest to me is "Before the Fall". I have thought of a sequel set up and set the idea out for comment. In the anime the final fight in the town seemed like a pair of mating cats, and as Annie's titan disappears in steam there is a comment about them merging. This does not occur in the manga where a crowd gathers immediately. What if they had and this was a Titan way of reproducing. Annie and Eren being alone on the street in the anime make this more logical possible. The setting is the court of queen Historia. Most of the old team is there. By order of the queen Ymir and Connie have married and it has worked suprisingly well. Annie was with child and it was a girl but she is not present. Mikasa was only prevented from killing the child by order of the queen and close protection by Ymir with Connie in the afore mentioned marriage to whom she was entrusted. Time has not has not helped, for to Mikasa she is always that woman's child. Eren may or may not be in the back ground but is as ineffective as ever and has not fathered any children by Mikasa or married her. Years of festering have passed. the young girl has now come of age and wants to know more about here "real father and mother" no matter how hurtful this is to Ymir and Connie. Annie is not on the scene and Eren is either not there either or remote. The court scene is ladden with tension over this now no longer child. Mikasa who knows the most is unapproachable. The manga could be titled "Bringing up Titan" with humor and stress. Like Pirotess at the end of Lodoss wars the girl must either make it where she is or find her own world. As a coming of age story retaining a number of the old characters, I think this has potential. |

Just watched the live action part 1 today....
Well, the Colossal Titan looks like Unzen from Touhou 12 lolol. The standard Titans look like a mix of creepy and corny. You can laugh at them really... XDD The biggest difference is the tech-level. In this movie timeline, humanity has at least access to 1950s level of tech... Like seriously.... they have APCs Which does lead to several questions about why their anti-Titan weaponry is still Napoleonic Wars level... I must say, watching Eren Titan pulp heads and bodies Warhammer 40K style was pretty satisfying XDD

To be absolutely honest.... it's not really that bad at all lol
I mean, aside from the slow intro and the out of placed middle act... what were they thinking?! What I think they did well were that the titans were sufficiently disturbing and the atmosphere was kinda creepy at night. Wish they did more with the tech. Could've been interesting to see.
