Just a small correction, UBW only copies swords, its unable to copy axes, halberds, lances etc. Can copy defensive equipment but at 2x/3x its prana cost.
If a traced weapon inside is destroyed, it is unable to be retraced again unless you resummon UBW again, the advantage of UBW is having all the weapons avaliable with no need to trace them (thus costing no prana aside the base cost of sustaining UBW). It works as a giant arsenal, that gets instantly updated if a new traceable equipment is saw, but only 1 weapon of each kind exist at the same time (inside UBW only gets 1 Kanshou and Byakuya per summon for example) About why traced weapons and original weapons are both destroyed is due to being made from the very same materials. The derank affects NP power but not the base composition so unless they have a passive effect both weapons have the same strenght and they both are destoyed at the same time. Making Broken Phantasm are beyond Shirou current skill/prana pool (aside maybe Heavens Feel route) and the cost to overload the NP with prana is calculated aside the cost of mantaining UBW. Even Archer cant use BP left and right due to his prana pool limitations. Last edited by Geburah; 2015-04-24 at 21:06. |

Isn't UBW basically the source of his tracing ability? One would gather the same rules can apply. Weapons can be infinitely reproduced and there can even be multiple copies of the same one.
Other rules of tracing should also apply. Meaning he can trace pretty much anything. It's just that he has a very special affinity towards swords and bladed weapons. |

Fate/stay night 15 - A Battle of Legend
This episode turned depressing from the middle towards the end that moved me to tears, as I stood silently watching Illya mustering her last breath to reach the warmth of Berseker.
I read a little about the lore and made-up mythology behind Fate/stay night. I understand that Illya is the ultimate Homunculüs achieved by the Einzbern, who have been at the verge of despair futilely attempting to win the Holy Grail at Fuyuki for around five times. If from what I've been reading in other sources, Illya's body was made and later upgraded with magical circuits to become the vessel for the grail, enabling her to tap on massive amounts of Mana. Hence, thus explains all those times Illya reeling of pain and blood after being surgically operated because magical circuits were constantly being implanted inside her body. Nevertheless, that was not only gross but sick, and I was taken aback learning what Illya had to endure all by herself. It is more depressing learning of Illya's fate at the aftermath of the Fourth Holy Grail War, being lied and misled that Kiritsugu left her for good to start another family and amounting the never-endings days of training, session rituals, and surgery throughout 10 years in order to prepare for the next war of Fuyuki. With Illya's demise there's left just one more remaining link of Kiritsugu's proof of existence, and yet Shirou's fate after this episode became clouded and blurred whether he survived or not. |
