New thread finally. Anyway episode 12 was a very good episode. I think the reason this show falls flat is that it attempts at comedy is just about so-so, which is most of the episodes, the real serious episodes are very well done. The kanji stuff can be tedious/confusingbut this episode was something that can be easily understood because they showed the meaning of the words better.
Akira has no reason to be a savior and no real reason on what to do after he saves stuff. Now, this is a new reincarnation cycle and story, so I still would not rule him out of the reincarnation stuff despite previous episodes calling him an outsider. Akira also gave some different expressions unlike that blank face he always has, like the time Hayato got injured protecting him or showing his vulnerabilities to Maia. Maia and Akira's bond is certainly more well done than the likes of Amata and Mikono or even Sylvia and Appollo. That is saying alot because in ep 12 of EVOL, Mikono and Amata were supposedly in love for no reason, Mikono was still utterly useless and Sylvia still hated Appollo. |

>more Mikono hate
It has been three years can we get over it already? Anyway, this now makes twelve monsters of the week! Not being a total half-rear attempt like Daimidaler or M3 nor almost-but-not-quite there like Sacred Seven or Eureka Seven: Astral Ocean, now we have a full-fledged monsters of the week series which has been missing from this medium for some time! Anime is saved from Kill la Kill! Also Akira escaping being chained and straight jacketed was classy. |

Psst, I was comparing Logos pair to EVOL's and well Mikono pretty much pales in comparison to Maia. THe comparison was made between Mikono and Sylvia when people watched EVOL as well. Mikono is hated because she was a total lame heroine. It is not easy to forget something so lame.

Hmmm... Is it just me or is the dynamic between Akira, Maia and Subete pretty much like Celiane, Apollonius and Touma?
Apollonius and Touma were meant for each other till an outsider, Celiane took Apollonius' affections. So Maia is the Apollonius equivalent who learns what it means to be human. Akira is the Celiane equivalent who wants to save humanity, an outsider who took Maia's affections. Subete is the Touma equivalent racked by jealousy over Maia being taken away from him. On the side note Kokone is the Pollon equivalent who is in love with Akira. |

Ouch, poor Subete, as much as he needs to be defeated right now, I felt that was accidentally a little harsh on the delivery, Maia... ^_^' I do feel bad for the guy, he's not a bad person, just a product of his asswipe parent, as was Maia. I hope he gets away and gets the chance to change as she did.
