I feel like they really missed an oppurtunity here. Not only is "swapping foes" the most overdone and obvious way to beat his army, but this could have probably been an interesting fight for Elfman.
Countering Elfman bulk with speed? Elfman is able to turn into other monsters, does he not have a really fast monster he can turn into? Elfman should actually be the most flexible mage of the bunch; His take over ability can allow him to constantly change his stregnths and weaknesses. He should actually the best opponent for a guy that can exploit weaknesses. Elfman didn't even bother to use his magic in this fight; so unde rultilized.

But like someone else said, I don't think they are down quite yet. Wahl is a mecha, so either they destroyed a clone, or he could just rebuild himself, and become an even more powerful version (which I see happening) Brandish going down too easily makes me think it is part of their strategy to trick Fairy Tail to let their guard down. I mean, if they are really going to capture Brandish and take her back to base, she may just escape, shrink Mavis down to a smaller size (once she finds her), and get out of the country. Then Fairy Tail has to go to Alvarez to rescue her |

I'm pretty sure Brandish has some scheme in place. OTOH, I am *very* interested in her relationship with Lucy's mom. (Of course, I'm interested in Brandish regardless. :P)
Robot-dude isn't necessarily completely gone, either. His head is still in the guildhall, and I can't tell if it has been rendered completely harmless yet. Fairytail may have weathered the initial clash, but there's a lot more coming at them. |

Oh, I'm not mad one bit. Erza has said he is undoubtedly the strongest wizard in Blue Pegasus, and he's fully capable of taking down those even Erza has trouble with when using his Power Parfum. He's just too stupid for his own good. Plus, he beat one of the 12 alongside the Raijin Tribe, who haven't gotten an awesome fight since Sirius Island.

I'm betting Lucy's mom used to be someone with high position in Zeref's empire, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if she was a former Spriggan Shield.
Why you ask? IIRC, Lucy said something along the line that her mom did mention something about the "One magic", and Zeref was after that for sometime wasn't he?

An interesting theory, but Zeref was not on Ishgar, while Layla has been shown to spend a lot of time in the Heartfilia mansion, so unless she possessed time/space magic (which is not impossible), she wouldn't be able to do much about a position as a spriggan twelve. Brandish could have been the one to fill her shoes in that scenario, but in that case her hatred should have been directed towards Lucy, who inherited the golden keys, instead.

The dates on Layla's grave puts Lucy as having been born sometime when Layla was 19. Jude and Layla met at the trade guild Love & Lucky and left it so Jude could strike out on his own not long after Lucy was conceived. So the vast fortune of his should have been built up while Lucy was an infant. That's what we learn prior to Tenrou Island. During and after the Tenrou Island arc, we learn that Layla once worked as a Celestial Spirit wizard herself... and retired from it due to "fatigue" when she was 16, and gave her keys away at that time. Later in life she told Lucy stories about the one magic being "love". Eventually, whoever received the Aquarius and Cancer keys passed them onto Lucy. So if her husband's company wasn't built until she was 19 or older, and she quit wizard work when she was 16, what was that mansion she was in when making the deal with Caprico? Did Jude marry into money/property when he married Layla? Or was that a different mansion entirely in the flash back, and the Hearfilia mansion merely built to resemble it? |

Hmm, Layla died 29 years old. Her birthday was x748, as inscribed on her tombstone (ch.68 p.15). This being the case, they had a few years to spend together...I won't geek out and compare how fast the FT HQ have been built and compare it to Jude's mansion, because he was human, but even if it took 5 years to build, they had another 5 to go. As for the time when Layla passed on her keys...Capricorn said it happened 20 years ago when they met at Tenroujima - the exam took place in x784, so the succession was in x764, when Layla was 16.
...You've got a point there. UNLESS there were two or more Laylas messing around with the timeline, which would explain her fatigue at the early age of "16" Personally though, I'd rather just have it left as a plot hole rather than get an intricate plot in an attempt to patch it up.
