mmm You have seen the raws of Vivid? there enough material for a S2 and S3 and a detail is that never turns deadly serious, but serious sometimes. Spoiler:
Also this would be a Vivid full original, with other girls instead of the next to appear. A story about that girl and her encounter with Vivio offtopic: I confess that MSLN is my favorite anime of all times |

While Vivid Strike may not have "Nanoha" in the name, the existence and use of characters from Nanoha ViviD pretty much cement it as part of the franchise, and thus I think this rightly deserves to be put in the subforum. There's precedent before anyway - MS IGLOO doesn't have "Gundam" in the name, but no one's arguing that it's a Gundam show, and thus is in the Gundam subforum.

What a mess....
It does hurt getting the full picture of what happened with Yukari Tamura. Although personally I always consider her first as Furude Rika and second as Nanoha. Though it still sucks that Nanoha is basically going to disappear from her own franchise. I just hope they write her away due to missions or work or just don't mention her. I'd outright not watch anything where they actually kill off the character.

So, as far as I can understand, this is a spinoff of vivid, which uses most of the cast of vivid, and there's a new character who looks like Nanoha...
Ok, sure, why not? Honestly, at this point all I want is actual battles with actual stakes again. Can I have that, seven arcs? Can I see Ein and Rio kicking butt for real? I honestly don't care how or why, just, please do it. |

of note: as noted, Tsuzuki is credited as original creator & writer Vivid manga artist Takuya Fujima credited as original character designer the majority of the animation staff are freelancers, except a couple who are Seven Arcs regulars only two or three of them worked on the Seven Arcs part of the Nanoha franchise; none of them worked on the ViVid anime This is all quite weird. Feels like a rights spat or something. All the previous anime are listed in the meta keywords on the website: 魔法少女リリカルなのは,魔法少女リリカルなのはA's,魔法少女リリカルなのはStrikerS,魔法少 女リリカルなのはThe MOVIE 1st,魔法少女リリカルなのはThe MOVIE 2nd A's,魔法少女リリカルなのはViVid So they're clearly not shying away from associating it with, well, everything. Lol this is the funniest part. |

...or they just made Vivio be Nanoha's actual daughter, and Nanoha is older. See guys, we can have both Vivio and Nanoha now! She's like her mom! Seriously. I was disappointed when I heard of the tired "tournament arc" trope and how the anime stopped in the middle of it.

Hmm...what if the girl in the picture is Vivio, and she is Nanoha's biological daughter? That way you can "have both at once". Mommy's too busy with work to show up, but her legacy lives on.
...would give her even more motivation to save Vivio in the parallel-dimension version of Strikers, if it occurs at all. Now I want to know if it is indeed an alternate dimension. What if Vivio is the same age and Nanoha's the same age and they're rivals ARGH

Nanoha would still be involved with notable speaking parts in a second season of Vivid. They couldn't do it without Yukarin, and I have never heard anyone manage to mimic her voice.
This would have to be a spin off. And... look, it makes sense from an outside perspective. The original cast has been here for a while, the new generation is growing into their power and becoming forces to be noted in the world. Having a "changing of the guard," so to speak, letting Nanoha and crew pass the torch on to the younger generation and let the new kids forge adventures and names for themselves... it's a logical step. The Nanoha verse is plenty big enough and complex enough to give them many opportunities to step up and become heroes in their own right. ...But Nanoha is Nanoha! She is the living icon of this world, the face of the franchise, the voice that tells us there is nothing to fear, for she will keep us safe. She is our hero. Losing her like this strikes deep into my soul.

Oh well, I haven't followed Nanoha (or been around the subforum) since the days where Force was just announced so no big deal to me in the end. |

Just learned about the news of this new series. As a long time fan, I am excited for it. But it's also tearing into me that this won't be a continuation of the Vivid series. From what I've read, it seems like a soft reboot or maybe a complete reboot in general.
So does this mean that Nanoha is officially dead from her own franchise? I mean I've read about what happened with Yukari's incident with King Records, but this is just tearing us long time fans into the heart. There's definitely going to be subtle call backs to the Nanoha series. I mean Vivio still has the last name of Takamachi. But then again, they can go around about how she has that last name and make it as she already had that last name without the help of Nanoha and Fate. Oh wells, here's looking forward to Vivio StrikerS and into the future of this new spinoff franchise. |

Well, I also both exited (YAY! A new season in TSAB-verse) and wary (whoa, such a HUGE change) I overall very glad that we got a whole new work. rather than an adaptation. I like some Vivid ideas, but overall tournamet-centred premise is a bit left down, considering just HOW many interesting info we could get from the times of the Ancient Belka. Maybe we had chance to see a bigger amphasis on the war-torn past (and present) of the Dimension Sea.
P.S. The MC would be voiced by Eddelruttio's (Aldnoah Zero) VA... I can imagine her intoning: "Increase the output of Aldnoah Drive!" instead of usuall "<Device name> Set Up!" |
