I initially thought he sounded too young but once he actually spoke a bit more, I quickly learned that it was just his meekness. On that subject, I do hope his meekness fades away through character development because it was difficult to watch at times (though that was the point)
I can't say I like the cg for the most part but that scene where he discovers how his body can split was god damn nightmare fuel, so props there. I'd be freaked the fuck out if that happened to me too.

WTF did I just watch? If the aliens don't appear again that's a horrible plot device. While I. can deal with strange I just have no idea which direction this would go in.
Interesting how he immediately went and uploaded everything onto social media and hacked the videos. I guess that makes it very relevant to the times. So thesis the from the guy that did Gantz? Never read it but have seen the anime and live action, and can see the resemblance. Though I wasn't a fan of the horror aspect, probably won't stick with this, but will give it 1 more ep.

The source manga ended last July at 10 volumes, so there's a complete story for them to adapt. IIRC the creator said he wanted Inuyashiki as a short series, to avoid it from getting too convoluted and bloated like Gantz's manga. Also, Spoiler for spoiler on aliens' role:

Nice, we're getting more focus on Hiro this week, the other character that was with the old man during their incident.
I like how he's protrayed in this anime so far as his personality fits quite well for his character. He's a very different character compared to Inuyashiki though. They didn't waste much time revealing his ability either. BANG. They kept the blood and violence in this series as well to show how dangerous Hiro is really capable of. I felt bad for that family he attacked. RIP. Pretty thrilling episode.

Meh, I just put everything in spoiler tags for the sake of it. Never hurts against protecting yourself from getting modded, especially if you don't keep track of when subs come out = when spoiler tags are no longer needed, like me.
Anyways, episode 2... Spoiler for ep2:

The quality of this episode seemed a lot higher, everything was easier to follow. The cg was with some few exceptions pretty good. (great robot cg, bad looking trucks in the street, ...) Really enjoyable, though felt super bad for the family. I didn't expect him to be that coldhearted afterall and the horrific scenes where he acted were really well directed. You could feel how unimportant other life seems to him just from his unimpressed gesture.
Don't think the two will be companions like the opening seems to suggest. At least it would be kinda weird if they make peace in the next episode, well let's see, I'm curious. Edit: I guess he's the villain after all, some characters like his friend look pretty similiar if you don't look too closely at them.. Last edited by SMT; 2017-10-20 at 06:28. |

This show knows how to properly do horror, unlike Ousama Game which turns it into unintentional comedy. This episode was really well directed. Hiro is a complete sociopath, and the way he calmly killed that family was bone chilling. His fondness for One Piece actually increased his creepiness, because it almost made him seem friendly and relatable. Plus I imagine most people would think the Gantz fan would be more likely to be the murderous one, so the author used people's bias to create a (minor) twist.
So we have Inuyashiki, who feels alive by saving people, and Hiro who feels alive by killing them. Those two were destined to clash. I didn't think it would happen this early though.

Man it was so difficult to watch Hiro kill that family. I was really hoping Inuyashiki would be able to at least save the girl too but no chance. Tis the fate of nameless characters.
I'm hoping beyond hope that Inuyaskihi can give Hiro a good asswhopin' but I won't be surprised if he doesn't. I really want to see Hiro suffer though.
