I'm surprised he figured out it's her this early in the series, but I like that they revealed it early because this opens up more possibilities to their interactions.
I'm still betting that Sempai is acting as a wingman and not intentionally stealing the girl. The guild master and his real life personalities are quite different, if I'm guessing correctly. We now know, with certainty, who the young girl is in real life. (...and I still need to remember all their names. OTL) But I'm actually surprised to find myself really enjoying this series. It's cute and funny.

I knew nothing of this series until recently, but its pretty damn cute and sweet, despite not really being anything special. In the end, it really is the characters who do the trick regardless of the series: Morimori is adorable, Yuta is very likable and the online crew is a nice bunch. Definetly looking forward to more.

Sure, getting back into a social life is good and all.
But my problem with this series is... She said she was a Full-blown NEET, IE: 0 (ZERO) income. So... question is... how the hell did she afford a gaming PC with a gaming Keyboard, mouse and Headset? (the Keyboard she's using cost about 100 USD, my keyboard... 5 USD...) And the other thing is... the game she's playing in is apparently a "SUB" game, that costs money monthly... a person with no income would play F2P games, they can't afford a monthly payment game. So in all... she's not really a NEET at all, she's just pretending/ thinking that she is because she isn't social. (Anti-social to be exact, which by this means you still have a job and income, just doesn't talk much or meet up with people) IE: this whole series is a Lie and Exaggeration. Not to mention episode 3's Lily Guild Leader thing... no one really threaten ppls about "getting close to Guild Leader"... how does that even work in the first place? meet in RL? LUL... |

Boy, that escalated quickly!
A fact of novels is that good plots dangle the prize in front of the readers, then snaps it away, again and again, until the reader gives up all hope, and then gets it finally. So I expect some pretty brutal plot twists now, because they are definitely not going to be lovey-dovey for 8 more episodes. Much as I'd prefer that, them being extremely cute and all. |

Episode 5:
All the social commentary about fashion, clothes, and hair style. I'm still quite interested at how they explore aspects of MMO/real life culture that blends between fiction and realit in this series. Moriko could learn a lot from her friends. The makeover she got made her stand out quite a bit compared to her usual look. Spoiler:

Oh yes, the joys of having to re-evaluate how you present yourself to the world, finding your wardrobe painfully outdated and run-down, your make-up dired up, etc. Been there, done that, spent all that money and more when I stopped freelancing... orz
(I wonder, are they going to sell that cat clock thing as merchandise? It's so cute, I'd buy one. The cat dakimakura too.) |

I've already pointed out how too many "coincidences" made this story work up until now, this is just another in the growing list Not that I'm complaining though, still waiting for the inevitable "real life/offline" guild meetup that kanbe is about to propose

I wasn't planning to watch this show, since I'm not a gamer. But all the positive reviews I've been seeing made me curious, and after binge watching the first 5 episodes and the manga, I can honestly say I love this show! Two of my real-life friends met each other through an MMO and they're now engaged, so the romance element in this show are pretty easy for me to accept, even with all the coincidences.
Moriko freaking out about her appearance is also super relatable. I had to buy new clothes before a recent job interview because it's been so long since my last interview that all my previous formal clothes no longer fit well. As for the long hair vs short hair debate? I'm with Moriko with medium length. Having long hair is a pain in the butt to take care of, and short has to be constantly maintained. Medium is best! |

OK, I was afraid it would go down that path. The konbini clerk got way too much screentime to not be part of the main cast. But this really undercuts the way the anime was relatable. Because coincidences like that really don't exist. Two players, OK. Three? No, because the chance decreases exponentially with increasing numbers. Now we may just as well have the rest of them also show up.
Also, I miss the long hair. It was so incredibly cute. But unfortunately this at least is something that happens in real life as well and for the same reasons. How can they pay attention to such details and not to basic statistics. -_- |
