The first update in a while regarding Toaru Majutsu no Virtual-On (since the Voosters Cup).
It has been announced that a crowdfunding page has been opened for Twinsticks for the recent Virtual-On game. The name of the new Twinsticks will be Twinstick VTX (Version TANITA Extra):

The new Dev Log release and man, is it a long one.
Part 1 >it’s been a really long time, in the past six months people even asked if we were abandoning the game or not >don’t worry, we’re clearly not going to run away from this >the first reason why we chose today to make a dev log is because Index 3 has finally had its date revealed officially >the second reason is that after nearly a half a year of work there is finally new content to share with you all >we’ve been working till midnight everyday to make the difference for not keeping in contact for all this time >from 2016-2017 we done about 4-5 tests before the game was launched, we took pride in how well we remade the series in 3D, however after opening the game we soon found out that many players had a different definition of accuracy. >Objectively speaking, there is no other index game that can match the quality of our game, but there are still a lot of players saying that the psp game was better, we didn’t quite understand at first but we soon realized what that really meant >however the rethinking caused many problems to arise, for example, should we do Misaka Mikoto’s World Cup uniform? Should we do more Struggle Battle cards? Should we make virtual on content? >the above questions will affect development, after all according to the original setting we should focus on making all of God’s right seat playable, however judging from feedback on Acqua it seems players are still attached to the female characters >therefore based on current understanding we will not be tied up in regards to the original setting and focus more on priority content like we did on April 1st, this update is also our attempt >We originally confirmed the release of OT14-OT15 to attract LN fans who don’t play mobile games outside of Index as well as to slightly reduce demand for the anime. >Regarding the voice part of Index 3, it is inconvenient that we’re ahead of anime, for example we had issue voicing the new characters because Kadokawa had no idea who their voice actors are, we are very sorry >in retrospect after the announcement of index 3 in October due to some internal news the director announced that index MMO 3 should be released in October 2018 >so for the development team we had two choices >continue to update according to what we’re told >In October have the game be already fully adjusted >in the end we’ve decided to do the latter Part 2 Characters >Misaka Mikoto has been remade with a higher quality model and some details adjusted, the buttons was unreasonable and the art was redone >people who have been playing the index game should notice that our newer models is much better than those released early on, in order to match them we’ve decided to remake all of them >we’re now using high quality models to make the difference, you can see this with Arisa, this character is much more refined and all new characters will follow this standard. Setting >We’ve also redone some of the unsatisfactory locations OP >when we first launched we had implemented a 3DCG OP, even though it was a lot of work it was not good because players want hand drawn OPs and our OP isn’t consistent, so for this time we’ve found JC Staff and asked them to make a brand new OP for the game and invited fripside to make a whole new song for the game >the OP is still under intense production, but be prepared for a special version soon Part 3 Story >Regarding the story of the player it was not mentioned in the main theme of the story and is considered to be a very inaccurate part of the game and we found that players care more about the original plots in the series, so in the future this will be revamped Index plot >We will have our own 3D cutscenes and cutscenes from the anime as a switch, OT15 will also have a comic strip-like cutscene setup, I'm sure some of you will recognize the part this scene is from UI >To be honest, the UI was the least prioritized aspect of the game, therefore we tried to change the UI of the entire game >the UI team worked hard on this one, it’s actually very tedious to modify a game’s UI so we thank them for supporting the game Combat >in the 2016 ver of the game, AI required a very strategic approach. It was very hard then so as a result we sought to make it more simple in the subsequent betas and release but we also had trouble modifying the difficulties and the bugs that came from it >so in ver 3 we will try to repair all the malicious bugs once and for all to ensure the normal experience of future players >with regards to sense of combat, the characters played is now much better than that of the initial Senran Kagura character and we will continue to improve System Improvement >In order to protect the player’s sustainable experience, such as guarantees, connivence, bug fixing, extra resources etc we will try to improve the system |

So basically one of the newest achievements on the updated collection system revealed that at least for right now theres 60 playable characters planned/worked on
which means that out of the 40 people confirmed/already in the game there's 20 additional characters we don't know about yet. |

Index MMO OP by Fripside teaser
October is gonna be a big month for Index overall, the Index III version of the game will release then with the anime. Also apparently the PC release of this game will be out then as well, and man does it look really good graphics wise |
