Fingers crossed, hoping that Bagan can actually appear in a feature/series this time around after being a concept for so long.
But if they decide to make their own cool original monster, I'm okay too.

Episode 1 already aired and it's quite promising. I like all the interaction between the characters, the quirky dialogues & the steady pace so far.
Even though we didn't get an actual monster battle this episode, at least we get Godzila-ish skeleton & Radon/Rodan appeared at the end, promising that things will get going in the following episodes.

Episode 2 is aired but still no sub yet.
Meanwhile, watching the review of the raw is fun as the people in the livestream can point out all the trivias & deep cuts of the Toho kaiju franchise in the show:

First episode was pretty nice now that I had some time to check it out. It was slow, but that's alright. Going to be important to build up these characters before things get completely out of hand and it sort of does anyways at the end of the episode.
Kind of nice anyways that the main characters so far are pretty likable. Fingers crossed things continue in a positive direction.

Slow starts are the standard in kaiju flicks. Just sticking to the script there.
I really enjoyed the characters here, The pedigree shows through - a director who's primarily worked theatrically, a writer who's mainly a sci-fi novelist, relative lack of trendy seiyuu. It all pretty much worked. The one thing that didn't for me was the CGI, which was surprising given Orange's work on their own shows. It wasn't a big deal here - just a half-minute of Rodan. But given the premise if the CG is on that level for the rest of the series it's going to be a real problem.

Solid first episode. I got a bit of a Lost vibe (in a good way) when they were chasing the mysterious song, and the scenes in the radio station with the unexplainable alarm. I admit I was struggling in taking the Gintoki look-a-like seriously, I expected him to be slacker and he ended up being a sherlock type genius.

Episode 2 subs out. That was an enjoyable appetizer fight between proto-Jaguar & Radon. And after that fight, the mystery gets deeper and the plot thickens. All the characters are still lovable and they contribute to the plot. This episode is actually pretty dense with plot and almost not a second is wasted but without it feeling rushed.
Also, the ED is filled to the brim with callbacks & references of the Toho kaiju franchise. Basically, all human characters other than Mei are characters from previous Godzilla & other Toho movies & show from 1954 to 2019. There's even a shot of two of Godzilla creators, Ishiro Honda & Eiji Tsuburaya there. And those are not counting the monsters, little objects on Mei's table & room, symbols, banners & posters, and futuristic gears that appeared in the ED. It was so much fun pointing out all the callbacks with other Godzilla fans in Monstrosities streaming (not the one I posted above, that's just the tip of the iceberg). This is S4 Gridman-level of loving references.
