Over at Amazon, one of the commentators suggested that the reason it took so long for Coil to be released was that Disney owned the North American rights and sat on them. I've never heard this before. Does anyone know if that is true?

Oh, a blast from the past. I tend to like these mistery/adventure hybrids with kids protagonists so very much. I don't know if it's a genre by itself, but there's definitely many similar series that are among my favorites. Dennou Coil, Zettai Shounen, Ghost Hound, more recently Made in Abyss.

I watched Iso's newly-released Extraterrestrial Boys and Girls (aka "Orbital Children") on Netflix over the weekend. Then tonight I turned on Netflix to see a giant ad for Dennou Coil at the top of my screen! Sure enough Netflix has licensed the Siren Visual version and is streaming it now.
