Should I Buy Mobile Suit Gundam Movies?

Should I go and buy the Mobile Suit Gundam Movies or should I try to find each dvd separately? I read that the movie has alot of new animations and do the movies have some important scenes left out? I also have never seen Mobile Suit Gundam, so this would be my first time watching it.

If you're talking about official R1 DVD, go for the movies. The TV series is dubbed only (even though its a great dub) but I like having both versions. MSG trilogy is faster and more efficient to watch, plus you get the new animations.

Definately go for the Gundam movies. I liked the TV series, but personally I prefer the movies. More to-the-story than the TV series plus the new animations as Obi said.

The only gripe I have with the movies is that on the newer edition DVDs released by Bandai, they switched in different sound effects, as well as different music in some places. (in the original version of Movie III, Encounters in Space played in the background as Amuro and Char duked it out at the end of the movie, but that's not in the new Bandai released DVDs) And the new sound effects they put in the movies are really "belh."

But yeah, the movies are a great buy.
