I guess it was really decided by the time he accidentally talked about going home to the island. But I was surprised that it was the teenage girls that were his excuse to go back, and not Naru, who is the closest he has to a family there.
Anyway, one of my two favorites of the season (along with Baby Steps). Quite relaxing and heartwarming and something to safely recommend to anyone. It is kind of sentimental to see it end. |

Finally got the chance to watch the last ep of Barakamon...couldn't believe Handa was only 5th in the competition! I thought he would place higher but I guess it was a good twist - made it more realistic and also emphasized friendship over winning.
Love that sweet scene near the end between Handa and Naru...hope they stay together always. The scenes with Handa's mom was a bit overdone though...I was almost becoming annoyed with her. But overall, a good last episode. I'm going to miss Naru, Handa and the gangs.
