Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is getting an anime project adaptation, by PA Works.

This is the premise

Spoiled harvest goddess Sakuna finds herself banished from her opulent celestial home to an island overrun with demons. In the untamed wilderness, she must rediscover her birthright as the daughter of a warrior god and harvest goddess by weathering the elements, fighting monsters, and cultivating rice, the source of her power. By her side in this forbidding place is her guardian Tama and a group of outcast humans. Together, these unlikely companions must join hands to tame both the soil and the demons of Hinoe Island.

Spoiler for first impressions:

Not bad, not bad at all. I was kinda iffy on the kid-showish character designs of the monsters and stuff, but it was a solid introductory episode
I thought Sakuna would cause her own demise from being so cocky, but it was actually the humans

If they showed the humans a bit more troubled before going around stealing food, I would have been able to sympathize with them a bit more, but as of now, they're like emotionless assholes who can't give a crap even in front of deities

But still, as far as this season goes, the atmosphere and all is actually one of the best so far this season

I enjoyed it more than I thought and I'm looking foward to the next chapter.

sukuna was kind of annoying but fun.

Those people were impressively stupid. Not only did they keep going when told by supernatural beings to turn the heck around they caused all this trouble. If I'm being chased by a robot firing bombs from it's mouth my first thought when running into a storage room is not about pigging out!

Also "we had nowhere to return to" is a bit much. That man had a whole planet to return to. He just had to turn back on one freaking bridge and choose a different one! Would that lemming walk his family into a volcano because he doesn't like the idea of turning around? Also if this was the only option left to him then he did a pretty poor job abandoning his life of crime!

A bit iffy on Kamuhitsuki as well. Talks a good game when it comes to punishment. But didn't seem to care much about where Sakuna was getting the rice from or whether she was putting in any work herself even if it was leading to discord among the gods. I don't buy that she has a deep meaning behind sending Sakuna there. She was just peeved about the mess and couldn't ignore something she should have done something about a long time ago.

Sakuna was a flawed goofball which made her easily the most entertaining character in this first episode . There's good in her actually seeking out answers and I'm good with that. Although talk about a mean-spirited extra punishment in even taking away her alcohol...

Not a terrible first episode. But in a season this packed not sure I'll keep up with it.

Never played the game, but heard a lot of good thing from the gamers. Besides being 3D rice farming game, the game also has 2D scroll fighting. The rumor says that the Japanese agriculture department's inbox is flooded with farming questions, from gamers.

her exploring was so not like the game. she is suposed to throw her rainmant 5 times in empty space trying to get to that damn ledge only to suceed and immediatly bunk her head on the roof and fall all the way down.... or was it just me playing like that

that sounds hilarious

onto the chapter, I'm really liking this one. Sukuna suprised me since I thought she was going to whine and cry more but that was that kinta kid, I hope he stop being a bitter kid soon.

Apparently the game spends more time in developing her character, but as far as the anime goes, she does a complete 180 from episode 1 and willingly does everything around her for the 5 strangers
The atmosphere is still nice to watch, but a single boat ride and literally 2 minutes or so making her a decent person or better gives her a different look than if they took time to educate her

oof they seem to make them even more useless than in the game. at least in the game she only waste the first coocking then it's fine. the rest of them are such a bunch of freeloader at the begining i really wante to throw them out the window

and damn that rice planting song cinematic that took about 3 eternity to complete. i'm glad they shortened it for the anime but i still skiped it !

I don't blame sakuna for lashing out at the end, it was too much and that dog is not helping with the "you are a goddess" every single time, so annoying.

and they didn't show her having to cast frogs and spiders when returning from a hard day of work because they can't even do that porperly lol

i don't remember her being such a pain about her gods in the game, maybe i erased it from memory.

So, the tale Tsuru no Ongaeshi is used in the story. It is about making cloth. In the old days, farmers make their own clothes. However, they still have to get fabric from other sources.

Both Sakuna and Kinta are brats tsundere. Sakuna's close contact with the unidentified flying object is unexpected. It a bit like fusion of the world of mythology with science fiction.
