Also the way they're depicting them basically battling with their acting talent with so much color is amazing . First it was Shizuka Ito and now it's Ayaneru as a mangaka with their work being adapted. And even Daisuke Ono is involved ! That shot of them transforming into their characters was phenomenal. Is that from the OP ?

Great start for the new season. A bunch of foreshadowing in the OP and ED but I won't put spoilers here.
Also, the show comes out on Wensdays again. Same day manga is published on Manga+.

The OP has me super hyped, since it shows a character (and location) that's only in the arc after Tokyo Blade. I was sad thinking I'd have to wait another 2 years for that arc, but we should be getting it at the end of this season. So hyped!

I read through the Tokyo Blade arc in the manga in one sitting so I actually enjoyed it quite a bit compared to the poor folks who followed it weekly, so I'm actually very excited to see it animated.
Oshi no Ko really is the kind of story that gets elevated by having animation and voice acting added to it, especially when the team involved manages to do something as creative as that Himekawa x Kana scene at the start. The way Kana gets painted by Himekawa's performance and starts morphing into the character, the way the "slaps" of paint hit Akane and Aqua in the background. Wonderful bit of visual storytelling. And that "zembu" at the end? 11/10! Chef's kiss. I knew it was coming and it still hit hard. And the new ED song doesn't work half bad to do the fade in transition either. It's no Mephisto but it works. Speaking of the ED can we take a minute to mention how insanely good the visuals for both OP and ED are this season? It's honestly a shame that I don't feel the new songs hitting quite as hard as Idol and Mephisto did, but that was always a tall order. Visually though? They easily top season 1. And they really went hard on the Ruby scenes for those which is welcomed And can we talk about that opening of the play at the start? It was a great way to introduce the arc quickly and get everyone up to speed. And kudos to the artists for making all our characters immediately recognizable. Kana, Akane and Aqua were all easily recognizable even in costume form and before their names came up on screen. Very well done, I don't recall the manga being quite as easy to tell (but it's been a while since I've read it). That said, I noticed some things skipped from the manga on this episode. No spoilers from me, but I imagine at least some stuff might get adjusted to show up in next week's episode.

I knew it'd be hard to top Idol but the new OP song is atrocious. Definitely a skip. The ED is fine.
I thought it was really weird that we were just thrown in the middle of rehearsals. And sure enough, after checking the manga, it turns out they skipped the introduction of the arc. I don't think they're going to go back to it because there's really no point now, and I'm not a big fan of their decision to skip content just to end the episode on a cliffhanger. But what's done is done, it's not the first time they've skipped stuff and it was pretty minor, the stuff they skipped in the first season is going to be far more of a problem down the road.

I'll be curious to see how this unfolds. I mean it's certainly possible to re-write some of it with the time they have. But the whole thing? Talk about throwing the scriptwriter into the fire! That's just spitting on the person that will have to pull off a miraculous re-write! I get as the creator of the source material having issues with adaptation changes. But I'll be curious to see how far they are willing to go.
Curious to see how Yoriko feels about all this. She did see her own work get a pretty rough adaptation so she probably lean to Abiko's side on this. But she also didn't have the luxury of getting to demand changes either . I did enjoy her bubbly friendly with Kana. Makes sense she's really attached to her . Just a good episode. I'm glad for Kana that she's both got a role that lets her shine and a co-star that can basically give her the green light to just cut loose! She's had very few chances to do that since she was a kid. Honestly this role could help revitalize her acting career a bit. Between that and her idol career she's doing pretty well at the moment .

You did well in remembering them. I just automatically remember redhaired Kana due to Megumi Han. Guess it's complicated due to how they change character when working.
The opening is pretty good at least in coreography but I fear the song can't beat "Idol". There sure was a lot of talking in this episode
